Steve from ‘Blue’s Clues’ had everyone in their feelings with an apology for leaving the show so suddenly

Steve from Blue’s Clues has everyone in their feelings today

Nearly every millennial out there grew up with Blue’s Clues on at one point or another. We were all there. The show was a household staple.

We remember Blue and all of her friends. There was Salt, Pepper and the spice family, the mailbox, the side table, Tickety Tock the clock, the slippery soap. They were all of our buddies.

But the one most of us probably remember most is the host, Steve, who was such good buddies with Blue. He kept us engaged and kept imagination churning.

Until, one day, he just didn’t. He wasn’t there anymore.

He abruptly left the show after I don’t know how long because my concept of time wasn’t really the greatest back then. Regardless, though, Steve was gone. And with Steve, a lot of us left, too. We had no idea what happened.

Now, here we are, 25 years later on the show’s 25th anniversary, and Steve is finally explaining to us why he left.

The short answer is, well, life happened.

“I just kind of got up and went to college. That was really challenging, by the way” Steve tells us. “But great. Because I got to use my mind, take it a step at a time and now I literally am doing many of the things that I wanted to do.”

He just grew up and had to move on. That’s totally understandable and relatable. It’s life.

But this next part? This next part had everyone in their feelings. This part really hit home.

“And then look at you and all you have done and all you have accomplished in all that time. And it’s just so amazing right? I mean, we started out with clues. And now, it’s what? Student loans? And jobs, and families. And some if it has been kind of hard, you know. I know you know. And I wanted to tell you that I really couldn’t have done all of that without your help…I guess I just wanted to say, that after all these years, I never forgot you…Ever.”

Man. Those are some nice words from an old buddy. That’s just super refreshing. And it comes at a time where it seems like, for so many people, everything is just falling apart.

This was just awesome. And incredibly kind. People were so in their feelings after this.
