Before looking at SportsbookWire staff’s Week 7 NFL picks, here’s where things stand.
The Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers suffered road losses in Week 6, both falling to 5-1. The Eagles lost 20-14 as 6.5-point favorites at the New York Jets (3-3), while the 49ers, who were 8.5-point favorites, dropped a 19-17 decision at the Cleveland Browns (3-2).
On the flip side, the Carolina Panthers (0-6) remain the only winless team in the league. Despite scoring the first 14 points, they lost 42-21 as 14-point road underdogs at the Miami Dolphins (5-1) last Sunday.
At least the Panthers can’t lose this week as they have a bye.
The Eagles will look to bounce back in the Week 7 Sunday night game when they host the Dolphins — 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC).
The 49ers will look to rebound when they visit the Minnesota Vikings (2-4) Monday night — 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN).
Week 7 kicked off with the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) winning 31-24 as 2.5-point road underdogs at the New Orleans Saints (3-4) Thursday night.
Joining the Panthers on a bye week are the Jets, Cincinnati Bengals (3-3), Dallas Cowboys (4-2), Houston Texans (3-3) and Tennessee Titans (2-4).
