Patriots Week 10 inactives: Ja’Whaun Bentley OUT, Kayshon Boutte IN

Here is the full list of inactives for the Patriots in Week 10 against the Colts.

New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is officially active for the second time in the NFL season.

That’s the good news in the list of inactives released by the Patriots ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the Indianapolis Colts.

Given the number of injuries at wide receiver, including both DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne being out, there was hope that Boutte would get more opportunities on the field. That day seems to have finally arrived for the former LSU standout against a Colts defense that bends and breaks more than most.

However, the bad news for the Patriots is linebacker and team captain Ja’Whaun Bentley being ruled out for the game. Bentley has turned into one of the team’s most reliable playmakers, and not having him on the field against a run-heavy team like the Colts is a big loss.

Here is the full list of inactives for the game:

The Patriots’ dwindling roster due to health reasons can’t seem to catch a break. It has given them something else to be forced to overcome in Frankfurt on Sunday against an opponent that is clearly better than them on paper.

Patriots-Colts game day poll: Who wins on Sunday?

Who are you taking on Sunday? Patriots or Colts?

[polldaddy poll=12973053]

The clash in Frankfurt between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts will kick-start Sunday’s slate of NFL games.

New England has shockingly turned into the doormat team of the AFC. They’re currently sitting at 2-7 on the season with the worst record in the entire conference. Everything hit rock bottom last week with the team falling at home to the Washington Commanders.

Things have been slightly better for the Colts, who are still in the thick of things in the AFC South division. Even without their starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson, the Colts have somehow stayed afloat and given themselves a fighting chance.

We’ll see if they can hold it together on their longest road trip of the season against a Patriots team with legitimate upset potential. Before losing to the Commanders and Miami Dolphins, the Patriots knocked off the Buffalo Bills in a surprising win at Gillette Stadium.

So it wouldn’t be wise to count them out in a matchup that seems meaningless to them on paper. Bill Belichick won’t stop coaching, and the Patriots won’t stop fighting no matter what their record is in the standings.

Texans vs. Bengals live stream, time, viewing info for Week 10

Viewing info for Texans vs. Bengals in Week 10.

The Cincinnati Bengals are on a four-game winning streak as the Houston Texans come into town Sunday for a matchup between two former Ohio State quarterbacks, depending on how you look at it. Joe Burrow has been performing at an MVP level for those four games and looks to continue that against a Texans team that has been better than expected so far this season.

The Texans have been good because of rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is coming off a week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in which he threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns, putting together a game-winning drive with less than a minute on the clock. He won AFC Offensive Player of the Week because of that performance.

Regardless, this is a game that on paper, the Bengals should win if they perform close to the level they have been on both sides of the ball. The offense and defense have been putting together very good games, and this Cincinnati defense will likely be bringing a lot of pressure at Stroud to see if the rookie can deal with it.

Here’s a quick look at viewing info and key details about the matchup to know, including the forecast and opponent info.

Texans vs. Bengals Week 10 referee revealed

Referee info for Week 10 Texans vs. Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals match up against the Houston Texans Week 10, and the referee assignments are out.

Carl Cheffers will be head referee for the game, who is in his 15th season as a referee. His crew has averaged 10.5 flags per game this season so far with a high of 17 in a Week 4 game between the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.

The last Bengals game Cheffers was referee for was last season against the Buffalo Bills when the game was canceled because Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

The Bengals are averaging just 4.6 penalties per game, which is best in the NFL. The Texans have had 6.9 flags against them per game, which is tied for 26th with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Bengals are avoiding penalties better than anyone in the NFL at this point, so if the game does come down to the referee and which team commits more, Cincinnati seems to be in a good spot.

Patriots Wire staff picks and scores for Patriots-Colts game

The Patriots Wire staff make their final predictions on the Patriots-Colts game

The New England Patriots are hopeful Sunday’s road trip to Frankfurt ends in them securing their third win of the 2023 season. Of course, the Indianapolis Colts will have something to say about it when the two teams collide in Germany.

Tanking is a myth that outsiders love to babble about midseason, but the reality is the Bill Belichick-coached Patriots will come out swinging in this matchup. Whether that actually leads to a victory or not remains to be seen.

The Colts are the more talented football team on paper, but they are also flawed enough for the Patriots to pull off a much-needed upset. Granted, the same could have been said about New England at home in Week 9, when they dropped an ugly 20-17 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Meanwhile, the Colts just put an end to a three-game losing streak by defeating the lowly Carolina Panthers last week. Will they win a second straight against the Patriots?

Here’s the full round-up of Patriots Wire staff picks for the Week 10 matchup:

Jordy McElroy (4-5) – Patriots 28, Colts 24

Danny Jaillet (8-1) – Patriots 13, Colts 17

Cam Garrity (4-5) – Patriots 21, Colts 24

Michael Braithwaite (3-6) – Patriots 16, Colts 21

Who are you taking in Sunday’s game? Can the Patriots work some magic on the international stage and come away with an upset victory? Or, will they lose their eighth game of the season and move up the 2024 NFL draft board?

Patriots vs Colts 2023 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

How to watch Sunday’s Patriots-Colts game

The international stage is set for what used to be one of the more exciting rivalries in the league.

Yet, these versions of the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts look drastically different than the ones legendary quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning led back in the days.

Frankfurt, Germany will serve as the backdrop for a bottom-feeding Patriots team looking for their third win of the season. The Colts are a struggling team as well, but at this point, they have more talent than New England and deserve to be favorited in this matchup.

Ahead of the road trip, the Patriots ruled out offensive tackle Trent Brown, wide receiver DeVante Parker and cornerback J.C. Jackson. So they’ll be lacking at least three key players on a team that has been devastated by the injury bug all year long.

Don’t think for one second that’ll garner any sympathy from the Colts, who are fighting to keep their head above water in the AFC South division.

Here’s how to watch Sunday’s game:

Vikings won’t activate Justin Jefferson off injured reserve vs. Saints

The Vikings won’t activate Justin Jefferson off injured reserve for Week 10’s game. The Saints caught a big break without the All-Pro suiting up:

Whew: the New Orleans Saints just caught a big break, with the Minnesota Vikings declining to activate wide receiver Justin Jefferson ahead of their Week 10 matchup. Jefferson missed four games with a hamstring injury and returned to practice this week on a limited basis — but he isn’t ready to suit up just yet.

That’s good news for a Saints defense that gave up 10 receptions for 147 yards (plus a 3-yard touchdown run) to Jefferson when he competed with them in London last year. Jefferson is one of the best in the game and his presence, even coming off an injury, would dramatically better Minnesota’s chances of moving the ball and getting into the end zone.

So in his absence they’ll have to rely on receivers like rookie draft pick Jordan Addison, who has caught seven touchdown passes in his first nine games. Minnesota’s receiving corps is led by T.J. Hockenson, whose 60 receptions are more than any other tight end this season. Hockenson’s 547 receiving yards are second only to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and the two players are tied for the most first down conversions (31) among their peers. Even if Jefferson isn’t playing, the Saints can’t afford to overlook the Vikings’ weapons and quarterback Joshua Dobbs, who brings his own challenges to the table.

Behind Enemy Lines with the Tennessee Titans

We spoke with Titans Wire editor Mike Moraitis to go over Tennessee’s strengths and weaknesses, new QB Will Levis and more.

The Tennessee Titans are coming to town, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will need to beat them to get back on track.

The Bucs and the Titans are 3-5, but Tampa Bay remains in a bad division and could get back into contention with a win on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Titans have officially handed over the reigns to rookie quarterback Will Levis, and he’ll be hoping to be the second rookie in two weeks to decimate the Bucs defense.

We sat down with Titans Wire editor Mike Moraitis to go behind enemy lines and discuss Levis, Tennessee’s strengths and weaknesses and players that may have flown under the radar this year that Bucs fans may need to look out for. Check out our discussion below:

Saints activate fullback Adam Prentice from injured reserve for Week 10 vs. Vikings

Saints activate fullback Adam Prentice from injured reserve for Week 10 vs. Vikings

This was expected: the New Orleans Saints activated fullback Adam Prentice from injured reserve for Week 10’s game with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Saturday, bringing back their preferred lead blocker.

Prentice suffered a knee injury in Week 5’s win over the New England Patriots and had been on the mend ever since, but he was able to return to practice this week and should play on Sunday.

What does that mean for Khalen Saunders? The charismatic nose tackle has quickly become a fan-favorite in New Orleans for his work on the other side of the ball, lining up in the backfield at fullback and paving the way for his teammates in short-yardage situations. Saunders will likely see his workload go down offensively, but he’s very much an asset, so don’t look for him to disappear altogether.

And the Saints completed a corresponding roster move to bring up Prentice by waiving veteran wide receiver Keith Kirkwood. Kirkwood mainly worked as a run-blocker out in space earlier this season but saw his reps steadily eroded by players like Lynn Bowden Jr. and rookie draft pick A.T. Perry, who is still searching for his first regular season target. There’s a good chance Kirkwood signs with the Saints practice squad should he clear waivers; undrafted rookie Shaquan Davis is still on the injury list with an undisclosed ailment.
