4 causes for concern ahead of the Jags’ Week 6 game vs. Dolphins

Heading into Sunday’s game we have four concerns for the Jags — and the struggles of the secondary are among them.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be flying to the United Kingdom today for their annual international game. This time, it will be against another AFC team from Florida in the Miami Dolphins who also haven’t had the season they were hoping for.

As always, there are a few concerns heading into Sunday’s game, especially after how the Jags’ last game against the Tennessee Titans went. Some are injury related, some are coach related, and some even relate to the current personnel that will take the field. With that being the case, let’s take a look at some things that could stand in the way of the Jags getting their first win if not addressed correctly:

NFL U.K. favors Buffalo Bills in 2021 season predictions

NFL U.K. favors #Bills in 2021 season predictions (via @stereorush):

Many media analysts have ranked the Bills highly ahead of the 2021 season. With a replenished roster, the team will look to build on last year’s success with the goal of winning the Super Bowl.

And NFL UK is among those who believe they can do just that.

NFL UK reporter and Sky Sports TV host Neil Reynolds shared his 2021 season predictions, which highly favor Buffalo and QB Josh Allen:

Reynolds has the team not only returning to the AFC Championship for a consecutive year but winning it. What’s more, in the Super Bowl he has the Bills defeating none other than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and long-time AFC East nemesis and UGG boots enthusiast, Tom Brady.

Reynolds also has Allen making such a run this upcoming season that would earn him the league’s MVP award on the way to the Championship he predicts for Buffalo.

Last year, the Bills fell to Kansas City in the 2020 AFC Championship Game, and just short of a Super Bowl berth. Similarly, Allen was the runner-up in MVP voting, coming in second to 2021 winner Aaron Rodgers.

The Bills will begin this year’s pursuit of a Lombardi Trophy next Sunday, September 12th in their season opener against Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

NFL will not play international games in 2020

The NFL will release their full schedule later this week, but they have officially cancelled all of their international games for 2020.

The NFL is planning to release the preseason and regular season schedules by Friday, May 9, but the schedule will not consist of any international games this year.

“After considerable analysis, we believe the decision to play all our games domestically this season is the right one for our players, our clubs, and all our fans in the US, Mexico and UK,” said NFL Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer Christopher Halpin in a press release. “We greatly appreciate the support of our governmental and stadium partners in Mexico and the United Kingdom, who all agree with this decision, and we look forward to returning for games in both countries in the 2021 season.”

The NFL has held at least one game abroad every season since 2007, but the global pandemic shifted the league’s priority to safety rather than the financial gain of playing in an international market.

The Seahawks were not confirmed to be playing internationally in 2020, although the Falcons and Cardinals were slated to host games in London and Mexico City, respectively, two opponents Seattle could easily have been scheduled to play abroad.

The Seahawks played abroad in 2018, when they faced the Raiders in London’s Wembley Stadium and won handily by a score of 27-3.

It was their first, and to date only, game outside of the United States.
