3 easiest games on Ravens’ 2020 schedule

The Baltimore Ravens might have some tough matchups on the 2020 schedule but they also face some of the worst teams in the NFL too.

The Baltimore Ravens’ 2020 schedule was released. While we’ve known who the Ravens would play this season, the order was still up in the air and could dramatically change the difficulty of some matchups. But with the schedule released, some games look to be even easier than previously thought.

While Baltimore has more than a few really tough matchups to be concerned about, the easiest strength-of-schedule in the NFL will see the Ravens face off against some cans as well. These three games should be the easiest of the bunch for Baltimore.

Week 5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

All the talk is rightfully focused on the Bengals’ first-round pick and new franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. Many pundits think Cincinnati is primed for a quick turnaround this season and could be a legitimate threat with Burrow under center.

But it’s not like Andy Dalton was a terrible quarterback before Burrow came to town and the Bengals weren’t consistently competitive in the AFC North before this draft. Nearly all rookie quarterbacks struggle upon getting into the league, including greats like Peyton Manning. Week 5 will be Burrow’s first serious test and welcoming into the NFL by a great defense and the Ravens have often made rookie passers look especially terrible.

An early home game against a division opponent with a rookie quarterback and limited talent on both sides of the ball should give Baltimore a massive edge in this game.

The Baltimore Ravens 2020 schedule is littered with amazing matchups. Though it might be the easiest strength of schedule based on last year’s records, Baltimore will face off against a number of top teams in 2020.

With so many great games circled on the calendar, the writers here at Ravens Wire came together to discuss which ones we’re most excited about this season. Take a look below to see which games we’ve highlighted and what we believe makes them so special.

Matthew Stevens: Week 11 vs. Tennessee Titans

This game didn’t get much love on the schedule with it being in a standard timeslot, but seeing no hoopla about the matchup is actually even more fitting. It’s going to be a knock-down, drag-out fight between two teams that love to run the football and are coached well. The fact this is a replay of the Divisional Playoffs only adds fuel to the fire and Ravens fans are absolutely going to be pumped for it.

Baltimore spent so much of their offseason gearing up for this exact game and shoring up the weaknesses that got them kicked out of the playoffs in the first place. But this will be the real test and if the Ravens can not only win but pull off a decisive victory, you’d have to think their Super Bowl chances are going to shoot through the roof.

No matter which way you slice it, this might actually be Baltimore’s most exciting game of the 2020 season.

2020 NFL Schedule: The 5 worst Thursday Night Football games

There are some great TNF games… and there are some not-so-great TNF games.

The 2020 NFL schedule is out and for a night in May we can try to be optimistic that things will go as planned in the fall.

The Chiefs will kick things off by hosting the Texans in the Thursday night season opener. The Jets and Dolphins will play each other in back-to-back games in November, which is weird. And fans had a blast ripping the Rams over their confusing/awful new logo.

Now let’s turn our attention to the Thursday night schedule. There are some good ones (Packers/49ers, Eagles/Giants, Bucs/Bears), but there are also some stinkers. And yes, I know that any game right now would be a good a game as we don’t have sports but let’s have some normality in our lives right now and look at some games that could be bad games.

Week 2: Bengals at Browns

The Browns are back in primetime basically right off the bat after an awful 2019 season in which they were on primetime like a million times even though they stunk. Sure, we’ll get to see No. 1 pick Joe Burrow under center for the Bengals but it’s hard to get excited about two of the worst franchises in football going head-to-head, especially so early in the season.

Week 4: Broncos at Jets

Let’s face it – it’s rarely fun to see the Jets as the only option any week, let alone in primetime on a Thursday night. Drew Lock vs. Sam Darnold is OK, I guess, but yeah, it’s hard to ever get excited about the Jets.

Week 8: Falcons at Panthers

Both of these NFC South teams struggled big time last year, with the Falcons going 7-9 and the Panthers going 5-11. Carolina has a new coach (Matt Rhule) and a new QB (Teddy Bridgewater) so they could be ready for a rebound year but these division rivals could be playing some bad football by Week 8.

Week 10: Colts at Titans

Now it’s time for us to be honest – the AFC South is rarely a fun division to watch, even if the Titans beat the Patriots in the playoffs last year before suffering a gigantic collapse against the Chiefs. Will Philip Rivers be under center for his new team, the Colts, in this one? If so, expect some classic fourth quarter INTs from the former Charger. Either way, this one screams Bland City.

Week 15: Chargers at Raiders

Speaking of the Chargers… they are scheduled to go to Vegas in Week 15 to face the Raiders. The Chargers used the No. 6 pick of this year’s draft on Oregon QB Justin Herbert, so this will now be his team with Rivers gone. It could be a rough year for both the Chargers and Raiders, so Week 15 could be a pointless game. But hey, at least it’s in Vegas!

The NFL released the 2020 schedule and everyone ripped the Rams’ awful new logo

This logo looks even worse than we thought.

The NFL released the 2020 regular season schedule Thursday night, which is great because it at least gives us some hope that sports will come back soon we’ll get some normality back in our lives.

Of course, that could all change in the months ahead but for right now, on a warm night in May, we can be optimistic that maybe we’ll have football games in the fall.

The schedule release also did something else – it showed off the Rams’ hideous new logo in schedule graphics on social media. And yeah, this logo looks even worse when you see that it’s real and live to the world:

Check it out:

It still looks like the Chargers to me and to lots of other people on Twitter.

NFL fans had fun crushing it:
