Bears TE Ben Braunecker (concussion), WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion), RT Bobby Massie (ankle) and LB Danny Trevathan (elbow) could miss the game.

Bears at Lions: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Bears 19, Lions 10

Moneyline (?)

With the Lions having lost four in a row and with Driskel playing quarterback, it doesn’t make sense to take them at +115, even though it is a better value than the Bears. The BEARS have been disappointing this season but they should be a slam dunk for the win at -139.

A $10 bet on the Bears will net $7.19 in profit with an outright win.

Against the Spread (?)

The Bears are favored by 2.5 points. The Lions are guaranteed to be in a close game, but they have not been a good bet, having covered the spread in only four of 11 games this season. The Bears haven’t been much better, covering only three times. That said, the Bears have covered in seven of the last 10 games against the Lions. They have the defense and the Lions have a backup quarterback. Take the BEARS (-2.5, -115).

Over/Under (?)

The total is set at 39.5 points. In 11 games this season for the Bears, the total has hit the Under in eight. It is a short week. The Lions will struggle against the Bears defense. and the Bears offense is bad. Take the UNDER 39.5 (-121).

Week 12 NFL picks against the spread

Picking all the Week 12 NFL games against the spread.

The NFL could fix a lot of its review issues if they just had an official watching on TV who could signal down when they got any call wrong. If the goal is to get calls right, they need to spare no expense to getting the game legislated properly 100 percent of the time.

Also, coaches should never run out of challenges if they keep getting them right. If refs blow five calls, a coach can challenge a maximum of three of them. That seems problematic.

To the picks!

Point spreads were provided by Bet MGM.

Week 11 record: 7-6

Season record: 80-79

HOUSTON (-3.5) vs. Indianapolis

Got it wrong. This felt like a three-point game, and I still got it wrong.

Pick: Texans (-3.5)

CLEVELAND (-10.5) vs. Miami

These two teams have basically swapped roles this year. Miami outright stinks, while the Browns are dramatically underachieving to the point of irrelevance.

Pick: Browns (-10.5)

BUFFALO (-3.5) vs. Denver

Do you want to know how bad John Elway has been at getting quarterbacks? The Bills may have figured it out before he did.

Pick: Bills (-3.5)

Pittsburgh (-6.5) vs. CINCINNATI

The Bengals aren’t going to lose ALL their games, are they?

Pick: Bengals (+6.5)

CHICAGO (-6.5) vs. New York Giants

That’s a lot of points for some combination of Mitchell Trubisky and Chase Daniel.

Pick: Bears (-6.5)

Oakland (-2.5) vs. NEW YORK JETS

The Raiders of old definitely lose this game and deflate all the air out of their currently playoff-bound balloon. This team has a different feel though.

Pick: Raiders (-2.5)

NEW ORLEANS (-9.5) vs. Carolina

The Saints already had their bad divisional loss at home when they lost to the Falcons in Week 10. No way that happens again, right? RIGHT?!

Pick: Saints (-9.5)

ATLANTA (-4.5) vs. Tampa Bay

There’s legitimate potential for this to be the most fun game of the day. Over 51.5 sounds good in this one.

Pick: Buccaneers (+4.5)

Detroit (-3.5) vs. WASHINGTON

Yuck!

Pick: Lions (-3.5)

PHILADELPHIA (-1.5) vs. Seattle

Philadelphia sports fans are who Seattle sports fans think they are.

Pick: Seahawks (+1.5)

TENNESSEE (-3.5) vs. Jacksonville

Somehow both of these teams are in striking distance in the AFC South and they’re a combined 9-11 for the season. That division stinks.

Pick: Titans (-3.5)

NEW ENGLAND (-6.5) vs. Dallas

Not only is this game super fun, but the only other game on while these teams play is Jacksonville at Tennessee. Every eyeball in the NFL should be watching a potential Super Bowl matchup.

Pick: Cowboys (+6.5)

SAN FRANCISCO (-3.5) vs. Green Bay

Pick: Packers (+3.5)

Baltimore (-3.5) vs. LOS ANGELES RAMS

Last year’s Rams vs. this year’s Ravens would’ve been a lot of fun. This year’s version of that matchup looks way more lopsided.

Pick: Ravens (-3.5)

Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots odds, lines, picks and best bets

Previewing the Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots Week 12 match up, with NFL betting odds, lines, picks and best bets

The New England Patriots (9-1) host the Dallas Cowboys (6-4) Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. We analyze the Patriots-Cowboys odds and lines, providing sports betting NFL picks and advice around this key Week 12 matchup.

Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots: Week 12 preview, betting trends and notes

Get some action on the games by betting at BetMGM. New customer offer: RISK-FREE First Bet (up to $500!) paid in free bets.

  • The Patriots barely bested the Philadelphia Eagles last week, winning 17-10. It wasn’t pretty, and QB Tom Brady didn’t look sharp, hitting just 55.3% of his 47 passing attempts.
  • The Cowboys were given a run for their money from a bunch of Detroit Lions’ backups, but Dallas was able to pull out the 35-27 victory.
  • Dallas QB Dak Prescott has thrown for three touchdowns in each of the past three games. The Patriots are 2nd best vs. the pass, allowing 152.6 yards/game. They’ve only given up four passing touchdowns all season, so this will be a big key to the game.
  • These teams haven’t met since 2015 and the Patriots have won the last five games, dating back to ’99. Dallas had won the previous seven encounters.
  • The Patriots are the No. 1 defense in the league, allowing just 10.8 points and 249.9 yards per game. Dallas is the No. 1 offensive team, averaging 444.6 yards per game. Dallas is 4th in points scored at 28.6 points/game.
  • The Cowboys allow 322.1 yards/game, seventh best in the league, and are tied at seventh allowing 19.7 points/game. The Patriots average 359.9 yards/game offensively, 16th best in the league, yet they are third at 28.7 points/game. They just haven’t looked good recently and their ground game needs a major boost.

Cowboys at Patriots: Key injuries

Brady (elbow) was a surprise injury report addition Friday, when he was limited. He is questionable. His top-three receivers are also questionable, as Julian Edelman (shoulder), Mohamed Sanu Sr. (ankle) and Phillip Dorsett II (concussion) were all limited Friday.

The Cowboys are relatively healthy, but keep an eye on WR Amari Cooper (knee), who has dealt with a knee issue.

Cowboys at Patriots: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Patriots 24, Cowboys 20

Moneyline (?)

The PATRIOTS (-278) are the chalk pick here, but this should be closer to a toss up. The Cowboys (+220), however, like to throw in stinkers to keep us on our toes. Regardless, that’s a lot of tax to pay on New England. New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Pats returns just $3.60 profit with a victory.

Against the Spread (?)

The Cowboys are being spotted 6.5 (-110) points and that hook, as usual, scares me. The Patriots have covered in 70% of their games (7-3), but they’ve played some really poor opponents; that shouldn’t be the case Sunday. Dallas is 6-4 ATS. Expect this one to be close; even if New England has a lead, they are struggling to put better opponents away. DALLAS (+6.5, -110) is the play.

Over/Under (?)

Dallas is 7-3 vs. the O/U, while New England is 3-7. Something has to give, and it likely won’t be the New England defense. Continue to ride the UNDER (-125) with this set at 46.5.

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns sports betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Miami Dolphins (2-8) battle the Cleveland Browns (4-6) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday, as the Browns look for a season-high three-game winning streak. We analyze the Dolphins-Browns sports betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks and tips for the Week 12 matchup.

Dolphins at Browns: Week 12 preview, betting trends and notes

Get some action on this game or others by placing a bet at BetMGM.

  • The Browns started out 0-3 straight up and against the spread as a favorite, but they’re 2-0 SU/1-0-1 ATS in the past two while favored, both at home.
  • The Dolphins went 0-3 ATS in their first three games as double-digit underdogs, but they’re 3-0 ATS in their past three as a dog of 10 or more points.
  • The Under is 3-1 in the past four road games for Miami, scoring 14.3 points per game in four outings away from home.
  • Cleveland is 2-1 SU/1-1-1 ATS in three games vs. AFC East teams with the Under cashing in each of those outings.
  • The Browns rank 16th in total yards allowed (344.0) and sixth in passing yards (216.8) yielded.
  • The Dolphins are 31st with 30.5 PPG allowed.

Dolphins at Browns: Key injuries

Dolphins: CB Ken Webster (ankle) is considered doubtful, while DE Taco Charlton (elbow) is listed as questionable.

Browns: S Eric Murray (knee) and DE Olivier Vernon (knee) are listed as out, while LB Joe Schobert (groin) is questionable. Of course, DE Myles Garrett and DT Larry Ogunjobi are suspended, too.

Dolphins at Browns: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 9:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Browns 23, Dolphins 17

Moneyline (?)

The Browns (-556) are overwhelming favorites, but they’re not worth the risk with such a small return on investment. If anything, the Dolphins (+400) would be worth the small-unit play, as you could quadruple your investment if they pull the upset.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the moneyline returns a $1.80 profit with a Cleveland victory.

Against the Spread (?)

The DOLPHINS (+10.5, -110) have covered three in a row as double-digit underdogs. The Browns (-10.5, -110) have struggled in the role as a favorite, and their offense just hasn’t been hitting on all cylinders. As such, they cannot be trusted, even against a struggling team like the Dolphins.

Over/Under (?)

The UNDER 44.5 (-110) is worth a look as neither of the offenses in this game have been particularly consistent. The Under is 9-4 in the past 13 road games for Miami, and 7-3 in the past 10 against losing teams. The Under is 6-2-1 in Cleveland’s past nine against losing teams, and 18-7-1 in its past 26 at home.

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Oakland Raiders at New York Jets sports betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Oakland Raiders (6-4) square off with the New York Jets (3-7) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. We analyze the Raiders-Jets sports betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks and tips for the Week 12 matchup.

Raiders at Jets: Week 12 preview, betting trends and notes

Get some action on this game or others by placing a bet at BetMGM.

  • The Raiders rank 11th in total yards (371.7) per game on offense. They’re 14th in passing yards (343.5) and ninth in rushing yards (128.2) per game.
  • Oakland’s passing defense ranks 28th in the NFL, yielding 264.1 yards per game.
  • New York Jets QB Sam Darnold threw for a career-high four touchdown passes last week in a win at the Washington Redskins.
  • The Raiders have scored 23.3 points per game in four games on the road this season, hitting the Over in three of those outings.
  • This is Oakland’s first appearance in the Eastern Time Zone this season.
  • The Jets have posted 34 points in each of the past two games, and the Over is 4-0 in the past four games for New York.

Raiders at Jets: Key injuries

Raiders DB Lamarcus Joyner (hamstring) is considered questionable while OT David Sharpe (calf) has been ruled out.

Jets: LB C.J. Mosley (groin) has been ruled out. S Matthias Farley (quadriceps), CB Darryl Roberts (calf) and LB Paul Worrilow (quadriceps) are considered doubtful. WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is the only skill-position player listed as questionable.

Raiders at Jets: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:05 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Raiders 31, Jets 27

Moneyline (?)

The RAIDERS (-167) hit the road, and they’ll be able to hold off the Jets in this one. They just have more horses on offense. The Jets (+140) are at home, and their offense has come alive, but their defense continues to struggle.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the moneyline returns a $6.00 profit with an Oakland victory.

Against the Spread (?)

The RAIDERS (-2.5, -110) are 2-0 straight up/1-1 against the spread in two games as a favorite this season. The Jets (+2.5, -110) have covered their past two as underdogs, winning both games straight up. They’re 2-3 SU/ATS in five games at home, however, and the Raiders pass offense will be too much for the Jets in this one.

Over/Under (?)

The OVER 46.5 (-110) is worth a moderate bet, as neither of these pass defenses are particularly strong, and the two passing offenses have been able to have their way lately. This number seems rather low, all things considered.

NFL Week 12 picks: Who the experts are taking in Rams vs. Ravens

The experts are heavily favoring the Ravens on Monday night.

For just the second time all season, the Rams are underdogs. And for the first time since 2017, they’re home underdogs. That’s the sort of threat the Ravens pose in Week 12, playing like the best team in the league over the last month.

The Ravens are the favorites in the eyes of the oddsmakers, but do NFL experts see it the same way? In short, yes.

According to NFL Pick Watch, a whopping 86% of experts this week are taking the Ravens to beat the Rams straight-up; this isn’t against the spread. That’s the third-highest number for a road team in Week 12, with 99% picking the Steelers to beat the Bengals and 93% picking the Lions over the Redskins.

The Rams have won three of their last four games, but they haven’t played any teams that pose much of a threat. They beat the Falcons, Bengals and Bears, and lost to the Steelers two weeks ago.

The Ravens have won four in a row, averaging 39 points per game in that stretch. They lead the league in scoring and are on pace to set NFL records in both points per drive (3.03) and total punts in a season (34).

The Rams have been searching for a signature win – besides the one over the Saints earlier this season – and this would certainly be one on Monday night.

Detroit Lions at Washington Redskins odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Week 12 matchup between the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins, with NFL betting odds, picks, tips and best bets.

The Detroit Lions (3-6-1) face the Washington Redskins (1-9) Sunday at FedEx Field at 1 p.m. ET. We analyze the Lions-Redskins odds and betting lines while providing betting tips and advice around this Week 12 NFL matchup.

Lions at Redskins: Week 12 preview, betting trends and notes

Looking to place a bet on this game or others? Sign up at BetMGM.

  • The New York Jets routed the Redskins 34-17 last week. It was 34-3 before Washington added two late touchdowns.
  • The last meeting between the two teams was a 20-17 Lions win in 2016.
  • Both teams have bad home/road splits. The Lions are 1-3-1 on the road, while the Redskins are 0-5 at home.
  • The Redskins rank 31st in offensive yards per game (255.7 YPG) and average just 12.5 points per contest.
  • The Lions are still without QB Matt Stafford who has multiple fractures in his upper back and neck area.
  • Detroit is favored for the third time all season.

Lions at Redskins: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 11:15 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Lions 20, Redskins 17

Moneyline (?)

The LIONS (-175) remain a solid play because of the small price and value vs. the Redskins (+145).

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Lions to win returns a profit of $5.70 with a victory.

Against the Spread (?)

Taking the LIONS to win and cover the 3.5 points is the play. The -105 number is far better value here than the moneyline. They’ll need to win by at least four points.

Over/Under (?)

The UNDER 42.5 (-133) is the bet here. The Redskins averaging just 12 points per game makes this a reasonable wager.
