NFL on CBS releases incredible hype video for Chiefs vs. Bills: ‘How lucky are we?’

Check out this incredible hype video that was made by NFL on CBS ahead of the Kansas City #Chiefs’ playoff matchup against the Buffalo #Bills.

Tomorrow evening, the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills will play in an epic AFC Championship Game matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.

Both teams put together incredible seasons in 2024 and had to fight their way through the playoffs for a chance to punch their ticket to a Super Bowl LIX appearance in February.

Kansas City is fighting for its third consecutive Super Bowl berth, while the Bills will look to represent the AFC in the Big Game for the first time since the 1990s.

This week, NFL on CBS released an incredible hype video for the game, which is sure to get fans in Missouri and New York excited:

While one team’s season will end at Arrowhead tomorrow night, supporters of both teams are sure to share the video’s sentiment before kickoff: “How lucky are we?”

Stay tuned to see which team earns the chance to play for a Super Bowl title next month.

Here’s the TV broadcast map for Texans vs. Titans in Week 18

Here’s where fans can watch the Houston Texans take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 18 of the regular season on television.

The Houston Texans will wrap up the regular season on Sunday afternoon on the road in an AFC South battle against the Texans.

While it might be their final game of the regular season, they will have at least one more playoff game at NRG Stadium in the wild-card round next week. The Texans (9-7) are locked into the No. 4 seed and will take on the highest-ranked AFC wild-card roster.

Houston is looking to punch its way to a second 10-win season under DeMeco Ryans in this matchup between the two AFC South contenders. With a victory, it also will mark the first time the Texans have finished 5-1 in divisional play since 2015.

While Ryans said starters will play, this is a game where Houston should consider resting starters in an attempt to get everyone fresh and healthy for the postseason run. Tennessee (3-13) also isn’t exactly a marquee team after a woeful first season under Brian Callahan, so Week 18 won’t be a promising bid for fans outside of bragging rights.

Below is the TV broadcast map from 506 Sports, which shows where every game on CBS early slate will be shown. If you’re in the yellow area, you’ll get the Texans and Titans on TV.

Tom McCarthy and Ross Tucker will be on the call from Nissan Stadium this week, with Jay Feely reporting from the sidelines. Most of the country will get Carolina-Atlanta, which does have some playoff implications for Atlanta, while Bills-Patriots and Giants-Eagles will also be shown in select markets.

Announcers for Eagles vs. Cowboys matchup on CBS revealed

Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be calling the Eagles Cowboys game Sunday on CBS in Dallas

The Eagles and Cowboys are set for their usual highly intense NFC matchup, and the game will have a familiar face in the announcer booth.

CBS Sports announced that the lead analyst crew of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson will be on the call.

Dallas will be without quarterback Dak Prescott, who’ll likely go on IR with a hamstring injury. Cooper Rush will start in his place. The Cowboys should have CeeDee Lamb at wide receiver, and Micah Parsons could return from his five-game absence.

Texans vs. Broncos Week 13 flexed to early game kickoff

The Houston Texans’ Week 13 game with the Denver Broncos has been flexed to 12:00 p.m. Central Time.

The Houston Texans will be able to catch the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers Week 13 showdown after all.

The NFL announced Tuesday the Denver Broncos’ trip to Houston will be flexed from a 3:05 p.m. Central Time kickoff to 12:00 p.m. The league is instead moving the Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the 3:05 window.

The flex wasn’t what Houston fans hoped for. Pigeoning the Texans into the early game window gives the club their first ever season playing in one kickoff window. Even the Dom Capers teams would catch a late afternoon start if facing Peyton Manning or a West Coast team.

James Brown brilliantly defused calling himself ‘big chocolate head’ on a hot mic

James Brown’s smooth level? 1,000.

Getting caught saying something a little out of pocket can happen to the best of us. Especially to those who are professional speakers.

Yes, it can even happen to CBS’s James Brown, a broadcasting veteran with over five decades of experience. After the NFL on CBS delivered its halftime report introduction on Sunday, the studio host seemingly didn’t realize he was back live on camera in front of the entire country. Because if he did, he probably wouldn’t have accidentally referred to himself as “big chocolate head” with everyone watching.

To Brown’s credit, he realized his mistake immediately and smoothly played off the hilarious hot mic snafu like a true pro:

How fantastic. Rather than pretend he never said it, Brown showed off a great sense of humor, weaving in his apparent nickname in his welcome to CBS’s spectating audience. That’s a guy who’s been around the broadcasting block and knows that these missteps aren’t necessarily rare.

Texans DC Matt Burke says J.J. Watt ‘is a great football mind’

Houston Texans defensive coordinator Matt Burke says former defensive end J.J. Watt “is a great football mind” and will do well for the NFL on CBS.

Matt Burke knows a little bit about J.J. Watt, and isn’t just because the Houston Texans defensive coordinator sees his pictures all around NRG Stadium.

Burke’s last job was Arizona Cardinals defensive line coach, and Watt was one of his players. The 47-year-old spent just one season with the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, but it was enough to know what Watt brought to the game.

The NFL on CBS is curious what Watt can provide as a studio analyst, which is why they inked a multiyear deal with the Texans legend.

“I think he will be great,” Burke told reporters Sept. 7. “I mean, ‘J’ is a great football mind. He cares about the game, he’s passionate about the game and the sport and the league. He’s honestly been successful at everything he’s done in his life. I don’t see that changing.”

Burke admitted that he was not aware of Watt’s specific role, but he expects his collection of experiences and understanding of the game to help him transition from three-point stance to TV studio.

“I think he’s going to be a guy that offers a lot of great insight, and he had a very intellectual approach to his game and how he prepared and how he played, and I think that’s going to serve him well in his next life here,” said Burke.

JJ Watt announces he’s joining NFL on CBS after announcing he was going to work at CVS

J.J. Watt is joining CBS, not CVS.

Former NFL defensive end J.J. Watt has a new job, but it took him two attempts for him to tell folks where he’s now working.

Watt, the future Hall of Fame pass rusher who played most of his career with the Houston Texans, shared on Thursday that he’s going to join the NFL on CBS crew on Sundays to break down what’s going on in the league.

At first, Watt joked that he had been hired at CVS (y’know, the convenience store) before playfully correcting himself that it’d be C-B-S he’d be joining, not C-V-S.

Watt joins former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan transitioning from the NFL to CBS Sports this offseason. NFL veteran Tiki Barber also got promoted with his work at CBS recently to a full season of booth work.

This should be a really cool opportunity for Watt to unleash his personality on a new stage, and NFL fans certainly won’t mind having the football great popping up on their televisions on Sunday again.

Texans vs. Bears: Time, TV schedule and streaming info for Week 3

The Houston Texans take on the Chicago Bears in Week 3. Find out how to catch the action from Soldier Field.

The Houston Texans and Chicago Bears didn’t have the Week 2s they expected.

The Texans, coming off a 20-20 tie with the Indianapolis Colts at NRG Stadium in Week 1, sought to build on the momentum of not giving away another big game to the Colts, but failed to muster a single touchdown in Week 2. The Texans offense tallied just 233 yards total offense as the Denver Broncos prevailed 16-9 to get their first win of the year.

The Bears had positive momentum coming off their Week 1 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Chicago executed a fourth quarter comeback and inaugurated the Matt Eberflus era with a win, and also showed that second-year quarterback Justin Fields has the goods to make things happen on offense. However, the Bears were no match for the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers on Sunday Night Football as it looked like any era of the past 14 seasons that Rodgers has been under center for the Packers.

A win for Houston puts ones across their record and captures the positivity that is quickly fading. Coach Lovie Smith had Houston excited for the 2022 season, but another loss could have Clutch City sports fans looking ahead to the 2023 offseason and not investing in the 2022 regular season.

A victory for the Bears has them above .500 and back on the right track under Eberflus, and also gives Fields more confidence.

Texans vs. Colts: Time, TV schedule and streaming info for Week 1

The Houston Texans take on the Indianapolis Colts to kickoff Week 1. Find out how to catch all of the action.

The Houston Texans’ season kicks off at last.

Can the Texans amplify the optimism that coach Lovie Smith has cultivated all offseason with a win? There would be no better way to get the Smith era started. It would also be the third straight time a new Texans coach won his Opening Day game.

Houston sports fans are anxious to see two offensive pieces: second-year quarterback Davis Mills and rookie running back Dameon Pierce. Mills has had all of the first-team snaps since the initial offseason workout; there has been no one to challenge him as the man under center. Pierce also has emerged as the starting running back after Houston drafted him in the fourth round from Florida.

The Colts may have retooled and grown stronger than their previous incarnations. With Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Ryan added to the roster, the Colts figure to have a dependable field general who will complement the dominance running back Jonathan Taylor has displayed on the ground. Taylor pounded the Texans for 145 and 143 yards in each of his two games against Houston in 2021.

Not that it has any bearing on the 2022 contest, but somehow the Texans are 2-0 against their AFC South rivals on Opening Day. The two contests came in 2010 and 2011. Peyton Manning was quarterback for the first meeting but missed the entire season in the second.

Texans vs. Titans: Time, TV schedule and streaming info for Week 18

The Houston Texans take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 18 at NRG Stadium. Find out how to catch all of the action one last time in the 2021 season.

The Houston Texans’ season comes to a merciful end as they host the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon for Week 18 at NRG Stadium.

There is still plenty to play for. If the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos on Saturday afternoon, they will have possession of the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. The AFC road to the Super Bowl will go through Arrowhead Stadium.

However, the Titans have the tiebreaker over the Chiefs, and winning in Week 18 would restore the No. 1 seed to Tennessee.

To put simply, if the Chiefs win, the Titans will play their starters. If the Chiefs lose, Tennessee will rest their starters as they will have the conference’s only postseason bye week.

For the Texans, it provides an opportunity to sweep the Titans for the first time since 2015. Rookie quarterback Davis Mills can also earn his third win of the season, Deshaun Watson for the second-most wins by a rookie quarterback. David Carr will always be on top with his four from the 2002 season.
