Where are the 49ers scheduled to pick in the 2025 NFL draft?

For those of you reading ahead, here’s where the 49ers stand in the NFL draft order:

Mid-November is probably too early to start earnestly diving into the NFL draft for the San Francisco 49ers.

Some teams are already eyeing April’s three-day selection event, and while the 49ers playoff chances are dwindling, they still have the talent to turn a corner and make a run at the postseason.

Until the 49ers turn that corner though, we have to operate like they’re not going to, thus leading us to take a quick peek at the 2025 NFL draft order.

Next year’s draft will be particularly important for a 49ers club that’s may be entering a transition stage where they need to supplement their roster with some top-end talent to fill some starting jobs and shore up depth on a top-heavy roster.

The problem for the 49ers goes back to what we just talked about up top — they’re not bad enough to worry about the draft yet which means they’re in the purgatory that sits between a playoff berth and a premium draft pick.

Here’s where things stand in the NFL draft order (non-playoff team edition) after 11 weeks according to Tankathon:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9)
2. Tennessee Titans (2-8)

3. Cleveland Browns (2-8)
4. New York Giants (2-8)
5. Las Vegas Raiders (2-8)
6. New England Patriots (3-8)
7. New York Jets (3-8)
8. Carolina Panthers (3-7)
9. Dallas Cowboys (3-7)
10. New Orleans Saints (4-7)
11. Cincinnati Bengals (4-7)
12. Miami Dolphins (4-6)
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)
14. Chicago Bears (4-6)
15. Indianapolis Colts (5-6)
16. Seattle Seahawks (5-5)
17. Los Angeles Rams (5-5)
18. San Francisco 49ers (5-5)

That’s right. The 49ers, who are last in the NFC West by way of tiebreaker, would also pick last out of the three 5-5 NFC West teams because of the strength of schedule tiebreaker.

Because the 49ers, Rams and Seahawks all have 5-5 records, the strength of schedule tiebreaker kicks in. The team with the lower strength of schedule gets the earlier draft pick. San Francisco’s opponents have a .549 winning percentage. Seattle’s is .531, and LA’s is .534.

It’s worth noting those numbers are based on season-long percentages. The 49ers have the lowest strength of schedule after 11 weeks.

Ideally the 49ers will turn their season around and find their way into the postseason. For now, we’ll continue keeping track of where they stand in the NFL draft order.

Where Bengals stand in draft order after Week 10

The Bengals remain in the hunt for a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

The Cincinnati Bengals are right in the playoff hunt at 4-6, despite their second loss to the Baltimore Ravens this season on Thursday night. But for now, they are still out of the playoffs, meaning we can still keep an eye on their potential draft slot for April.

Following Sunday’s games, the Bengals sit with the 13th pick in the draft, via Tankathon. They are one game out of a playoff spot and two games above the worst record. They are currently tied at 2-8 with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Giants.

An interesting note when looking at the draft order is that 11 teams have three or fewer wins through ten weeks of the season. Six teams only have two wins. Half of the league has a losing record.

Current NFL Draft order

1. Jacksonville Jaguars 2-8
2. New York Giants 2-8

Where Bengals sit in draft order entering Week 9

An updated look at the Bengals and 2025 NFL draft order.

A loss on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles dropped the Cincinnati Bengals to 3-5 on the year.

While they do sit just 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, they are currently on the outside looking in, so they would be sitting inside the top 18 in the draft order entering Week 9. But where exactly do they sit coming to the halfway point of the season?

According to Tankathon, the Bengals sit 11th in the draft order entering Week 9. The Bengals are currently the only team in the NFL with a 3-5 mark after eight weeks, putting them right outside the top ten.

Current NFL Draft order entering Week 9

Where Bengals sit in draft order entering Week 8

Where the Bengals currently pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Two straight wins have brought the Cincinnati Bengals back from 1-4 to 3-4 and right in the AFC playoff picture. But for now, they’re still outside the playoff picture, so a look at the draft order entering Week 8 doesn’t hurt.

The Bengals are obviously much closer to a playoff spot than the top pick now, a different story than a few weeks ago when they had the No. 2 overall pick.

According to Tankathon, the Bengals enter Week 8 holding the No. 12 pick in the draft. The Bengals have the easiest schedule among the three 3-4 teams, the others being the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.

Current 2025 NFL Draft order

1. New England Patriots 1-6
2. Carolina Panthers 1-6
3. Cleveland Browns 1-6
4. Tennessee Titans 1-5
5. New York Jets 2-5
6. New Orleans Saints 2-5
7. Jacksonville Jaguars 2-5
8. Las Vegas Raiders 2-5
9. New York Giants 2-5
10. Miami Dolphins 2-4
11. Los Angeles Rams 2-4
12. Cincinnati Bengals 3-4
13. Arizona Cardinals 3-4
14. San Francisco 49ers 3-4
15. Los Angeles Chargers 3-3
16. Dallas Cowboys 3-3

Updated 2025 NFL draft order after Week 6

Here’s a look at the projected order of picks for the 2025 NFL draft following six weeks of action.

Following a 23-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the Denver Broncos fell to 3-3. Their win percentage of .500 puts the Broncos on pace to select 15th overall in the 2025 NFL draft after six weeks of play.

Of course, there’s plenty of football left to be played. Denver still has 11 games remaining, so this seems unlikely to be the team’s final order in next year’s NFL draft. But we’ll be tracking the draft order so long as the Broncos remain outside of the AFC’s playoff picture.

Here’s a look at the current projected draft order for non-playoff teams entering Week 7, courtesy of Tankathon.com:

  1. New England Patriots (1-5)
  2. Cleveland Browns (1-5)
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5)
  4. Carolina Panthers (1-5)
  5. Los Angeles Rams (1-4)
  6. Tennessee Titans (1-4)
  7. New York Jets (2-4)
  8. Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)
  9. New Orleans Saints (2-4)
  10. Arizona Cardinals (2-4)
  11. Las Vegas Raiders (2-4)
  12. New York Giants (2-4)
  13. Miami Dolphins (2-3)
  14. Seattle Seahawks (3-3)
  15. Denver Broncos (3-3)
  16. Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
  17. Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)
  18. Chicago Bears (4-2)

Up next for Denver is a road game against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. That game will mark Sean Payton’s return to New Orleans, making it a must-watch prime-time game.

Silver lining: Bengals have shockingly high slot in 2025 NFL draft order

Bengals sitting with No. 2 pick in draft through five weeks

After a crushing home loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5, the Cincinnati Bengals fell to 1-4 on the year, far from where the team and fans expected to be at this point of the season. The silver lining is they remain just two games back in the AFC North with the Ravens and Steelers tied at 3-2.

Another piece of good news is the Bengals are currently in position for a high draft pick.

It’s not what Bengals fans were hoping for this early in the season, but it’s at least some kind of positivity. Through five weeks, the Bengals currently hold the No. 2 pick in the 2025 draft.

There are currently six teams sitting with a 1-4 record. Of those six, the Bengals have the second-easiest strength of schedule. Only the New England Patriots have an easier schedule, giving them the No. 1 pick after Week 5.

Here’s the top ten in the draft through Sunday Night Football.

  1.  New England Patriots 1-4
  2.  Cincinnati Bengals 1-4
  3.  Jacksonville Jaguars 1-4
  4.  Cleveland Browns 1-4
  5.  Los Angeles Rams 1-4
  6.  Carolina Panthers 1-4
  7.  Tennessee Titans 1-3
  8.  Miami Dolphins 2-3
  9.  New York Jets 2-3
  10.  Las Vegas Raiders 2-3

Broncos on pace for a top pick in 2025 NFL draft

It’s way too early, but we’re tracking it anyway. The Broncos are on pace for a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Yes, two games is an extremely small sample size. But do we really believe the Denver Broncos are going to join the playoff hunt this fall?

As things stand now, the Broncos are one of x 0-2 teams, and it’s easy to imagine a few of those teams finishing well down the stretch. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams are also winless, but it would not be surprising to see those clubs turning things around this season.

As for Denver? A top-ten pick certainly seems within reach.

After two weeks of play, this is the current order for the top ten picks in 2025 NFL draft, according to Tankathon.com.

2025 NFL draft order

  1. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
  2. Indianapolis Colts (0-2)
  3. Tennessee Titans (0-2)
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
  5. New York Giants (0-2)
  6. Carolina Panthers (0-2)
  7. Baltimore Ravens (0-2)
  8. Denver Broncos (0-2)
  9. Los Angeles Rams (0-12)
  10. Washington Commanders (1-1)

The Broncos hold six picks in next year’s draft, including selections in the first, second and third rounds. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay from April 24-26.

Broncos projected to pick No. 1 overall in 2025 NFL draft with 3-14 record

PFN has the Broncos projected to finish with a 3-14 record and claim the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Denver Broncos fans might be feeling optimistic about the team going into Sean Payton’s second season in charge, but national media members aren’t convinced.

The latest example comes from Ian Cummings, who used Pro Football Network’s playoff predictor to project which teams are the most likely to end up with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. His projection has the Broncos picking first overall next year after going 3-14 this season.

Here are PFN’s projections for the NFL’s worst teams this fall:

1. Denver Broncos: 3-14
2. New York Giants: 3-14
3. Las Vegas Raiders: 4-13
4. Tennessee Titans: 5-12
5. Arizona Cardinals: 5-12
6. Carolina Panthers: 5-12
7. New Orleans Saints: 5-12
8. Washington Commanders: 6-11

Ouch.

In his latest 2025 NFL mock draft for Touchdown Wire, Curt Popejoy has quarterback Shedeur Sanders going No. 1 overall (to the Dallas Cowboys, who acquire pick No. 1 from the Panthers). That mock has Denver landing Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 3 pick.

Let’s hope these projections look silly in a few months.

Updated list of Rams’ picks entering Day 3 of 2024 NFL draft

After making four picks already, the Rams still have six more selections on Day 3 of the draft

The Los Angeles Rams have already been busy in the 2024 NFL draft, making four selections in the first three rounds. However, they’ve still got a lot of work to do on Day 3 Saturday.

After trading away the 155th overall pick in the deal to go get Braden Fiske, the Rams are left with six picks on the final day of the draft. They’re without a fourth-round pick, but they have one in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh.

The Rams will try to make the most of those selections Saturday, filling some of their remaining roster needs – including cornerback, offensive tackle, wide receiver and possibly tight end or quarterback. We could even see the Rams draft a kicker at some point on Saturday.

Below are their remaining picks, as well as the players they’ve already drafted.

Remaining picks

  • Round 5, No. 154
  • Round 6, No. 196
  • Round 6, No. 209
  • Round 6, No. 213
  • Round 6, No. 217
  • Round 7, No. 254
