New York had a tremendous rebounding advantage in Game 5, as it really didn’t shoot all that much better than Indiana last time out. The Knicks will need to put the sour memory of Game 4 out of their heads. Look for New York to ride the red-hot Brunson into the Eastern Conference finals, and a date with the Boston Celtics.

Against the spread

The KNICKS +5.5 (-110) are worth playing with the points, if you’re a little more on the conservative side, and you just can’t pull the trigger betting New York straight up.

The Pacers -5.5 (-110) are just 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games, with the lone exception the blowout win in Game 4. But it’s going to be hard to collective themselves after a 30-point loss, even with the home crowd on their side. Back the Knicks, who should be able to push the Pacers around for the rebounding edge again in Game 6.

Over/Under

UNDER 215.5 (-110) is the lean in Game 6, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under has cashed in 3 straight meetings in this series since a pair of Overs at MSG to start. Knicks G Donte DiVincenzo scored 35 points, shooting 7-for-11 from 3, but it was Pacer’s G Andrew Nembhard who made a clutch shot from well beyond the arc to take the late lead in the 111-106 victory.

The Pacers are doing everything they can to contain Brunson, but after Game 3 it appears that New York has the roster to take advantage of the new opportunities.

On top of that, New York’s bench proved to be quite helpful, while every player on Indiana’s bench had a negative +/- on Friday. Yes the Pacers won the game, but everything was clicking defensively and yet they just barely managed to pull off a win.

I like the value of the Knicks at plus money, especially with Brunson off the injury report.

LEAN KNICKS (+185).

Against the spread

The Knicks have lost by more than 5 points just 3 times in their last 15 games. Compare that to a Pacers team favored in 5 of their 6 games against the Milwaukee Bucks that failed to cover in 3 of them. That included 2 upset losses by double digits.

Even if the Pacers win game 4, I see another close matchup. If you like the Knicks to win, but feel you need a little insurance, then BET KNICKS +5.5 (-110). Otherwise, stick to the moneyline.

Over/Under

After 3 games Indiana finally has a plan to slow Brunson, which is to have G T.J. McConnell or F Aaron Nesmith cover him to keep the Knicks offense from humming. On top of that, don’t expect New York to shoot 51% from beyond the arc again.

But keeping Brunson to 10-of-26 shooting wore out his defenders. Nesmith and McConnell combined for just 16 points on 6-of-16 shooting. This is still playoff basketball where 100 points per team is not guaranteed.

Inconsistent is a good word for this team, but sitting at 5-2, not many fans in the Big Apple will be complaining. They’ll need that A-game Wednesday.

The Pacers have returned star G Caris LeVert, who has struggled with injuries the past few seasons.

LeVert, C Myles Turner and PF Domantas Sabonis make this Pacers roster dangerous and far better than their 2-6 record shows. The questionable tag placed on G Malcolm Brogdon will play a huge factor in this one as well.

BET on the PACERS (-112) as they’re just a different team with LeVert. It’s a small sample size, but without Brogdon against the Spurs, the Pacers put up 131 points as LeVert chipped in 16 points and 7 assists as his all-around playmaking helps them immensely.

Rookie G Chris Duarte is among the most developed rookies and has contributed immediately, and if you add Brogdon back to the mix this is a dangerous team.

They may not have the playmaking to down a team like the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs, but they should be able to defeat the Knicks, a team coming off an ugly home loss.

The Pacers are 2-2 at home and 0-4 on the road, so this team clearly likes when their home fans are backing them. This is the perfect opportunity for the Pacers to flex their newfound playmaking as they try to make up ground.

Against the spread

PASS on the spread.

At just a 1.5-point difference placed on the teams, I’d rather look at a team to win outright rather than take the point of insurance.

Over/Under

“LEAN” on the UNDER 217.5 (-110) as both teams have playmaking, but both teams also have defense-first big men. Getting 100-plus on teams with bigs like Mitchell Robinson and Turner in the paint for a majority of the game is easier said than done.

While the Raptors and Orlando Magic were able to expose the Knicks, it was guards OG Anunoby and Cole Anthony making outside shots that killed them, not anything in the paint.

Consistent shot-making is hard to come by which is why I’d bet the Knicks can tame an array of Pacers playmakers.

With both the Pacers and Knicks preferring half-court offense, respectively ranking 18th and 28th in pace, I expect a slower game and one that should end in the low 100s for each side.

As long as the Knicks keep competing at this level, the intensity of the Garden is going to pick up as the season progresses.

At the moment, the Knicks are only allowed to fill the Garden at 10% capacity, but regardless they play much better at home. The Knicks are outscoring opponents by an average of 108.3-106.1 this season (compared to 101.4-102.8 in road games). These teams match up fairly well. However, New York’s edge on the glass will be the differentiator in this game.

The Knicks have the highest rebounding rate in February, which has led to them scoring the ninth-most second-chance points per game. The Pacers are 25th in rebounding rate this month and have given up the most second-chance points per game as well.

But, the Under has cashed in five of the last six meetings and the Knicks are 1-3 O/U in their past four games with the one outlier coming against the worst defense in the Association (Kings).

Indiana loses some offensive firepower in Warren but the Knicks already lost handily to the Pacers in the season opener 121-107. New York scores the fewest points per game in the league at 100.8 and has one of the worst average point differentials in the Eastern Conference at minus-4.4, while the Pacers are fourth in the league in differential at plus-9.8.

It is hard to expect much of a different outcome. If you must go with the money line, where there isn’t much value, go PACERS (-450). There’s much better value on the spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

Both the Knicks and Pacers covered the spread in their wins and failed to in their losses. New York hasn’t been favored yet this season. Indiana is 3-1 ATS. Take the PACERS -9.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The teams combine to average more than 217 points on offense. New York is 2-3 O/U while Indiana is 3-2 O/U. The two combined for 228 points in their first meeting. This game should not be much different in the end. Take OVER 215.5 (-110).
