WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa sees first NFL action

Former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa enters the game for the Miami Dolphins with 2 minutes remianing in the fourth quarter vs. the Jets.

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa entered the NFL by way of a No. 5 overall selection by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.

He sits under veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is on his final season of a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins. Tagovailoa is reportedly very close with Fitzpatrick and has learned a lot from his 15 years of NFL experience.

While many view the 2018 Heisman-finalist quarterback as the future of the South Florida franchise, he did not see a single snap in the first five games of the season – even with a couple of games where the Dolphins led or trailed by multiple positions late in the game.

Now, in the Dolphins’ Week 6 contest vs. the New York Jets in Miami Gardens, Florida, Tua Tagovailoa sees his first few minutes of NFL action.

Dolphins fans and players were excited about Tua’s entrance:

Tua’s first snap in the NFL was a handoff for no gain to Matt Breida:

His first completion was to Patrick Laird for two yards.
