New York Giants at Cleveland Browns odds and lines: Browns big favorites at home

Looking at Sunday’s New York Giants at Cleveland Browns preseason game with NFL betting odds and lines.

The New York Giants will be on the road in Week 2 of the preseason, visiting the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium. Sunday’s kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Giants at Browns odds and lines.

The New York Jets beat the Giants in the preseason opener Saturday 12-7. QB Daniel Jones didn’t suit up for the Giants, nor did RB Saquon Barkley or WR Kenny Golladay, so the offense was understandably unimpressive at home against the Jets.

The Browns were impressive in their 23-13 win over the Jaguars. QB Kyle Lauletta threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on 27 attempts with WR Davion Davis catching four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Cleveland picked off QB Gardner Minshew once, too, with the quarterback completing only four of his eight passes.

The Browns are big home favorites with a money line of -250. A $10 bet on the Browns to win outright only returns a profit of $4.00. So there isn’t much upside with that wager. They’re favored by 6.5 points, as well, so if they win by at least 7 points, a $10 wager on the Browns to cover would return a profit of $9.52.

The Giants are 6.5-point underdogs, which means in order to cover the spread, they must win or lose by six or fewer points. A $10 wager on the Giants to cover the spread pays out $8.70 in profit. On the money line, a $10 bet would return a profit of $20.

The Over/Under is 37.5 points, which means the Giants and Browns must combine for at least 38 points for the total to go Over. The Under will cash if they combine for 37 or fewer points. A bet on either the Over or Under returns a profit of $9.09.

New York Jets at New York Giants odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s New York Jets at New York Giants preseason Week 1 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Giants and New York Jets clash Saturday at MetLife Stadium in the 2021 preseason opener for both teams. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Jets at Giants odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Rooke Jets QB Zach Wilson will get his first taste of NFL action as he and the rest of the starters will play “about a quarter” Saturday, according to new head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets need to work in an abundance of new faces this preseason after going 2-14 in 2020.

The Giants are able to take a more conservative approach to the preseason. QB Daniel Jones won’t be playing Saturday and rookie WR Kadarius Toney is also not expected to see the field.

Jets at Giants odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jets 18, Giants 13

Money line

The JETS (-145) are the play as moderate favorites. The Giants’ first-team offense isn’t expected to see much time together Saturday, while Saleh needs to see as much of his potential starters as possible.

Wilson, the No. 2 pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, has a clear edge in the quarterback battle against Giants backups Mike Glennon and Clayton Thorson. Gang Green also has intriguing position battles in the backfield and at wide receiver.

Against the spread

Back the JETS -2.5 (-125) for a win by 3 or more points. We’re expecting Wilson to lead more early touchdown drives for the Jets while the Giants, led by their second- and third-team QBs, will be happy to get into field goal range.

Over/Under

Lean to the UNDER 33.5 (-105) despite most of the Jets’ starters being in line for a decent amount of playing time.

Rookie WR Elijah Moore is unlikely to play due to a quadriceps issue, according to Saleh.

New York Jets at New York Giants odds and lines: Gang Green favored in start of new era

Assessing the odds and lines for the Week 1 preseason battle between the New York Jets and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

The New York Jets begin a new era and look to put behind them a disastrous 2020 campaign in their 2021 preseason opener Saturday against the rival New York Giants. Kickoff at MetLife Stadium will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Jets at Giants odds and lines.

Jets fans and the rest of the NFL can expect to get their first game-action look at QB Zach Wilson. The No. 2 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft should lead a couple drives under first-year head coach Robert Saleh. Rookie RB Michael Carter, taken in the fourth round, should also get a good look as a potential candidate to lead the backfield in the regular season.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley was activated from the physically unable to perform list Monday, but he’s unlikely to see the field at all in the preseason after missing nearly all of the 2020 campaign. QB Daniel Jones should get adequate time with his new-look receiving corps for head coach Joe Judge.

The Jets are ever-so-slightly favored as the official road team in their shared stadium with the Giants. They have an implied win probability of 55.56% with the -125 money line odds. The Giants’ implied win probability is 50%.

The Jets are favored by 1.5 points. A Jets win by 2 or more points covers their side, while the Giants can cover with a 1-point loss, a tie or a minor upset victory.

The Over is the favored side of the projected total and cashes with a total of 35 or more points scored. A total of 34 or fewer points is a win for Under bettors.

Previewing the New York Giants at Baltimore Ravens Week 16 betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and predictions.

Giants at Ravens: Game notes

  • The Ravens are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, covering in their last four games.
  • The Under has hit in each of the last six games involving the Giants.
  • The Over has hit in four of Baltimore’s last five games.
  • Because the Giants are often huge underdogs, they are actually 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games.
  • The Ravens are 9-0 on the ML in their last nine games against NFC opponents.
  • The Giants are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against AFC opponents.

Giants at Ravens: Key injuries

Giants

  • DB Darnay Holmes (knee) out
  • QB Daniel Jones (hamstring/ankle) questionable
  • LB Blake Martinez (out)
  • WR Golden Tate (calf) questionable

Ravens

  • WR Marquise Brown (knee) doubtful
  • WR Dez Bryant (thigh) questionable
  • DE Calais Campbell (calf) questionable
  • CB Marcus Peters (calf) doubtful
  • CB Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder) questionable

Giants at Ravens: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Ravens 34, Giants 10

Money line (?)

The Ravens are likely going to blow out the Giants, but their -600 ML price is too steep for such little return. AVOID.

Against the spread (?)

Seeing as we’re picking the Ravens to win by 24 points, laying10.5 points isn’t that big a stretch despite the fact the Giants have covered most of their big spreads this season. The Ravens are hitting their stride offensively. Take the RAVENS -10.5 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The O/U 43.5 seems low. This is a difficult bet because the Giants could have trouble doing their part and scoring the 10 points that might be necessary to hit the Over. The Ravens will come close to hitting the Over themselves, so, with some hesitation, take the OVER 43.5 (-110).

Browns at Giants: Game notes

  • The Browns are coming off a 47-42 loss on Monday night against the division-rival Ravens, one of the most exciting games of the 2020 NFL regular season. While it wasn’t a great showing for the defense, obviously, the offense was crisp for most of the night.
  • Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns vs. Baltimore, and he has scored at least one time in three straight (four total). In two of his three previous games against the NFC East, he has posted a 100-yard game, including 108 yards and two touchdowns against Washington in Week 3.
  • Giants QB Daniel Jones (hamstring, ankle) won’t be starting this one, so former Browns QB Colt McCoy will get a start against his old team. McCoy started his career in Cleveland, appearing in 24 games from 2010-12 with 21 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
  • The Giants saw their four-game win streak halted last week against the Arizona Cardinals, who routed Big Blue 26-7 as three-point favorites. That loss knocked the Giants out of first place in the NFC East. The Under has cashed in five straight for the G-Men.
  • Cleveland enters 12th in the NFL with 374.2 total yards per game, and they’re third with 156.2 rushing yards per contest. They’re also hoisting up 26.8 PPG, ranking 13th. Defensively, they are rather middling in most categories, and they allow 28.3 PPG to rank 27th.

Browns at Giants: Key injuries

Browns

  • WR KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) questionable
  • TE Austin Hooper (neck) questionable
  • CB Kevin Johnson (groin) questionable
  • TE David Njoku (knee) questionable
  • S Andrew Sendejo (concussion) out
  • OG Wyatt Teller (ankle) out
  • CB Denzel Ward Jr. (calf) questionable

Giants

  • TE Evan Engram (calf) questionable
  • QB Daniel Jones (ankle, hamstring) out
  • CB Darnay Holmes (knee) out
  • CB James Bradberry (COVID) out

Browns at Giants: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Browns 30, Giants 13

Money line (?)

The Browns (-300) are vying for their 10th victory of the season, which is rather impressive. But, they’re still the Browns and posting up three times your potential return is still very risky behavior. AVOID.

Against the spread (?)

The BROWNS -6.5 (-110) have seen money pouring in on them, driving the line up from an open of three to nearly a flat seven. It still might get there. Cleveland’s offense looked great last week, getting conversions and scores whenever they needed them, while the Giants +6.5 (-110) were limited to just one touchdown. Whether or not Danny Dimes plays, this offense is still rather moribund.

Over/Under (?)

UNDER 44.5 (-110) is the slight lean, and worth a small-unit wager. The Browns offense should be able to do their fair share of damage, but the Giants are averaging just 14.3 PPG across the past three, hitting the Under in five straight overall.

  • Against the spread/ATS: Cardinals -2.5 (-115) | Giants +2.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: 44.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Cardinals at Giants: Game notes

  • The Giants are riding a four-game winning streak.
  • The Cardinals have lost three in a row and four of five.
  • After five straight games of at least 30 points and 400 yards, the Cardinals have averaged 22 points per game in their last three contests and haven’t gained more than 314 yards.
  • The Giants have the No. 9 scoring defense, giving up 22.1 points per game, and are ranked 10th in total defense.
  • Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has 22 touchdown passes and 10 rushing touchdowns this season.

Cardinals at Giants: Key injuries

Cardinals

  • WR DeAndre Hopkins (neck, back) questionable
  • RB Kenyan Drake (hip) questionable
  • LB De’Vondre Campbell (ankle) questionable
  • LB Isaiah Simmons (neck, back) questionable
  • Jalen Thompson (ankle) out
  • CB Johnathan Joseph (neck) questionable

Giants

  • QB Daniel Jones (hamstring) questionable
  • LB Blake Martinez (back) questionable

Cardinals at Giants: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cardinals 24, Giants 17

Money line (?)

The Giants are on a roll and the Cardinals are in a bit of a tailspin. However, as tough as the Giants’ defense has been, they probably won’t be able to match the five sacks they had against Seattle when they play the Cardinals.

Arizona’s offense has been too good for most of the season to stay in this funk. With the Cardinals getting healthy on the defensive line, the Giants will have a harder time running the ball. Take the CARDINALS (-135).

Against the spread (?)

The short spread makes wagering against your money line pick prohibitive. The Giants are a strong 8-4 ATS while Arizona has fallen to 5-7 ATS after a very good start to the season.

But, that Arizona offense won’t stay down forever and if Drake is not 100%, RB Chase Edmonds has been very good in two career games at MetLife Stadium. He has scored four touchdowns in two games and has 242 total yards from scrimmage in those games. Take the CARDINALS -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under (?)

As good as the Cardinals’ offense was for most of the season, they are only 4-8 O/U. New York is 3-9 O/U. Arizona will not be able to get 30 against that tough Giants defense, but the New York offense struggles. Don’t expect a ton of points in this game.

Take the UNDER 44.5 POINTS (-105).

  • Seattle is unbeaten (5-0) at home this season.
  • New York is 0-4 against non-NFC East conference opponents this season.
  • Seattle has not allowed more than 23 points in their last three games and have allowed fewer than 320 yards in their last two.
  • Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has 31 touchdown passes this season and 10 interceptions.
  • The Giants have allowed no more than 20 points in their last three games.

Giants at Seahawks: Key injuries

Giants

  • QB Daniel Jones (hamstring) doubtful
  • WR Sterling Shepard (toe, shoulder) questionable
  • WR Darius Slayton (shoulder, foot) questionable

Seahawks

  • OT Brandon Shell (ankle) questionable
  • RB Chris Carson (foot) probable
  • DE Carlos Dunlap (foot) questionable
  • CB Tre Flowers (hamstring) questionable

Giants at Seahawks: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Seahawks 27, Giants 16

Money line (?)

With QB Daniel Jones expected to be out, and the fact the Seahawks are playing some of their best football right now means this game should be fairly noncompetitive. Take the chalky SEAHAWKS -550.

Against the spread (?)

The Seahawks have covered the spread in only one of their last three games but are healthy on offense and improving on defense. Their defense will rattle QB Colt McCoy. The offense will methodically score points. Take the SEAHAWKS -10.5 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The total has gone Under in the Seahawks’ last three games. The Giants’ games have gone Under in four of their last six. Take the UNDER 47.5 POINTS (-110).

Giants at Bengals: Game notes

  • The Giants had a bye last week. Despite being 3-7, they are only one-half game out of first place in the NFC East. After an 0-5 start, they won three of their last five. QB Daniel Jones has completed 63.5% of his passes for 2,122 yards with 8 touchdowns against 9 interceptions. He also leads the G-Men with 384 rushing yards – and 1 score.
  • The Bengals reportedly will start QB Brandon Allen with No. 1 overall draft pick Joe Burrow out after suffering a season-ending knee injury last week in a 20-9 loss at the Washington Football Team. It would be Allen’s fourth career start. He started three games for the Denver Broncos last year (46.4% completion rate, 515 passing yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs) and has been on Cincinnati’s practice squad this season. The other option is backup QB Ryan Finley, who completed 3 of 10 passes for 30 yards with an interception in relief of Burrow last week. Finley lost all three of his starts as a rookie in 2019, completing just 47.1% of his passes for 474 yards with 2 TDs and 2 picks.
  • The Bengals’ backfield is also depleted. RB Joe Mixon is on IR with a foot injury, while RB Giovani Bernard (concussion) is questionable for Sunday.
  • The Giants are a solid 7-3 ATS, while the Bengals are 5-4-1 ATS.
  • New York is 0-1 as a favorite this season, only winning 20-19 as a 2-point favorite vs. Washington Oct. 18. But that was against a healthy opponent.
  • These two last played in 2016 with the Giants eking out a 21-20 victory at home as 1-point underdogs.

Giants at Bengals: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Giants 24, Bengals 6

Money line (?)

The Giants (-239) will prevail, but it’s a PASS since a money line bet requires risking nearly 2½ times the potential return.

Against the spread (?)

The GIANTS -5.5 (-115) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. With Burrow, Mixon and possibly Bernard out, and Allen or Finley at QB, the Bengals likely wouldn’t beat the winless New York Jets (0-10). Don’t be surprised if they’re held out of the end zone in this one.

Over/Under (?)

Back the UNDER 44.5 (-115). The Giants average just 19.5 points per game to rank 30th in the NFL. The Bengals average 21.3 PPG to rank 25th, but that was with Burrow and a mostly healthy backfield.

  • The Giants rank 31st in scoring offense (18.7 points per game) but they’ve allowed just the 13th-most points in the NFL (24.3 PPG).

Eagles at Giants: Key injuries

Eagles

  • WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) questionable
  • OT Lane Johnson (knee) questionable

Giants

  • WR Golden Tate (knee) questionable
  • WR Sterling Shepard (toe, hip) questionable
  • RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) questionable

Eagles at Giants: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Eagles 23, Giants 21

Money line (?)

The Eagles have had little trouble against the Giants in the last five years, winning eight straight against them and nine of the last 10. They’re the best team in the NFC East, which isn’t saying much, but their talent level is higher than New York’s – especially if Jeffery returns.

I’m going with the EAGLES (-189) to win outright over the Giants Sunday afternoon, even with the game being on the road.

Against the spread (?)

The Eagles failed to cover the spread last time around against the Giants, and that’ll be the case again on Sunday. They often play close games against each other and the Giants have covered in six of their last 10 meetings.

Take the GIANTS +3 (+100) to cover the margin and keep this one within a field goal.

Over/Under (?)

The Over/Under is on the lower side in this matchup, and it’s easy to see why. These teams turn the ball over a ton, which will keep possessions short.

What could push this total over the 44.5 points is if turnovers lead to short fields and defensive touchdowns. Otherwise, these offenses are playing below-average and shouldn’t light up the scoreboard. Take the UNDER 44.5 (-110).

The New York Giants (1-7) will pay the Washington Football Team (2-5) a visit in Week 9, while seeking their second win of the season. Kickoff from FedExField is set for 1 p.m. ET Sunday afternoon. Below, we preview the Giants-Washington betting odds and lines and make our NFL picks and predictions.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Giants +120 (bet $100 to win $120) | Washington -143 (bet $143 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Giants +2.5 (-110) | Washington -2.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 42.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Giants at Washington: Game notes

  • The Giants are 5-3 ATS and Washington is 4-3.
  • New York (18.1 points per game) and Washington (19.0 PPG) rank 31st and 30th in scoring, respectively.
  • The Giants are 6-4 in their last 10 games against Washington, including 3-0 in their last three meetings.
  • In their first matchup this season, the Giants beat Washington 20-19 as 1.5-point favorites.
  • The total has gone Under in four of Washington’s last six games.

Giants at Washington: Key injuries

Giants

  • WR Sterling Shepard (shoulder, toe) questionable
  • RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) questionable
  • CB Logan Ryan (hip) questionable
  • LB Blake Martinez (hamstring) questionable

Washington

  • DE Montez Sweat (concussion) questionable

Giants at Washington: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Washington 20, Giants 17

Money line (?)

These teams are fairly evenly matched, but not for the right reasons. They’ve both been terrible offensively, lacking consistent play at quarterback, but Washington’s defense is superior to New York’s.

For that reason, I’ll take WASHINGTON (-143) to win outright with its defensive line giving the Giants’ pass protectors fits all game long. Giants QB Daniel Jones is good for a turnover or two each week.

Against the spread (?)

After being underdogs in their first meeting, Washington is a 2.5-point home favorite. The Giants have been competitive in their last four games, all of which have been decided by three or fewer points. Washington, on the other hand, has been blown out much more often.

Still, I’m taking WASHINGTON -2.5 (-110) at home, as it relies on its defense to carry the load and win by at least 3 points.

Over/Under (?)

Washington hasn’t topped 27 points yet this season and has scored more than 20 only twice. The Giants aren’t much better, scoring more than 23 points only once. These offenses will remain suspect Sunday, while the defenses step up.

Take the UNDER 42.5 (-106) with the point total coming in below 42.5 points.
