2022 World Cup: Netherlands vs. USA odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Netherlands vs. USA odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

USA battles Netherlands in the first Round of 16 game Saturday. Kickoff from Khalifa International Stadium is set for 10 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Netherlands vs. USA odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Netherlands won Group A with 2 wins and a draw, taking down Sengal 2-0 in its opener on Nov. 21, drawing Ecuador 1-1 on Nov. 25 and beating the home country, Qatar, 2-0 Tuesday.

Netherlands has a star at each position group with Barcelona F Memphis Depay, Barcelona M Frenkie de Jong, and Liverpool D Virgil van Dijk. PSV Eindhoven M Cody Gakpo has scored in every game so far and is tied for the tournament lead with 3 goals.

USA finished 2nd in Group B, drawing Wales 1-1 on Nov. 21, drawing England 0-0 on Nov. 25 and beating Iran 1-0 Tuesday.

A first-half goal from Chelsea F Christian Pulisic secured the victory over Iran. Pulisic will be available after suffering a pelvic contusion on that goal, which is fortunate for the Americans as he is the most technical player in the attack.

Prediction

Netherlands 1, USA 1 (Netherlands advance in extra time)

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN DRAW (+240).

The United States has proven that it can hang with top-tier sides. The Netherlands should eventually win this game, but what USA showed against England should instill confidence in bettors.

USA held England to 3 shots on target and no goals which was an impressive showing as England tallied 9 goals in its other 2 games.

Netherlands also didn’t impress too much. It took down Qatar and Senegal but had 5 fewer shots than Senegal. Ecuador also ranks 44th in the world and drew the Netherlands.

For what each side showed through Group Stage, a DRAW (+240) has good value.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (-170).

Every game by both teams in the Group Stage went under this total as both teams allowed just 1 goal each across their 3 games.

I wouldn’t hammer the total at this value though, but it is the only way I would play this game though considering the presence of van Djik and Manchester City M Nathan Ake in the back for Netherlands.

Similarly, the wingbacks for USA, AC Milan D Sergino Dest and Fulham D Antonee Robinson, have been extremely solid so far this tournament. With Pulisic banged up, the US attack may not be 100% either.

Back the UNDER 2.5 (-170) but for no more than a unit considering the value.

World Cup group stage: Senegal vs. Netherlands odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Senegal vs. Netherlands odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a World Cup Group A group stage match, Senegal will take on Netherlands with kickoff set for 11 a.m. ET Monday from Al Thumama Stadium. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around Senegal vs. Netherlands odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Netherlands will depend on F Memphis Depay as its main offensive weapon. The star Barcelona forward has 42 international goals in 81 caps. D Virgil van Dijk, which some consider the best defender in the world, captains the Netherlands roster. Its 3 goalkeepers have a total of only 8 caps, which could be a problem for the favorite.

Senegal sits 18th in the world per FIFA men’s rankings and will have a challenge on their hands with No. 8 Netherlands. Senegal is led by 24-year-old Watford F Ismaila Sarr, who with 29-year-old F Famara Diedhiou lead the team with 10 international goals each. D Kalidou Kouliably, who plays for Chelsea, is Senegal’s captain.

Prediction

Senegal 1, Netherlands 1

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN DRAW (+300).

The inexperience of the Netherlands goalies, despite having ample club experience, could yield some mistakes. While it is laced with top English Premier League talent, the Netherlands didn’t have impressive showings over Wales earlier in the year.

Otherwise, it has looked solid. This should be more about Senegal impressing. It has drawn 14 of 16 games this calendar year. Senegal is typically led by 1 of the best forwards in the world, F Sadio Mane, Despite his absence, Senegal should have the talent to hang with the Netherlands.

Senegal has the pace and talent to keep up with Netherlands in this match.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-140).

The juice is on the Under for a reason. Senegal has gone Under this total in 12 of 16 games this year.

Given Netherlands has a key defensive back that plays in the center of the pitch and is dominant as a communicator and ball-winner, expect Senegal to struggle breaking through.

Similarly, Depay is really the talent for Netherlands. He is the only player with 10 or more goals for Netherlands in the World Cup. Their last 2 games, against Poland and Belgium, both went Under 2.5 goals as well.

DRAW (+240) is the best value on the board in this battle of Group F titans. Neither team received much of a test in their opening match, and this result should be much different. Expect plenty of defense.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+110) at even-money is a tremendous value. Both Netherlands and Brazil opened with outstanding offensive efforts; however, they each came against inferior foes.

This will be a competitive match between two of the best women’s squads in the world.

Euro 2020: Netherlands vs. Czech Republic odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Netherlands vs. Czech Republic odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

The Netherlands take on the Czech Republic in Sunday’s Euro 2020 Round of 16 action. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET at Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Below, we preview the Netherlands vs. Czech Republic odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Coming into this game Netherlands, the first-place finisher in Group C, is looking like a dark horse to win the entire tournament. F Memphis Depay and MF Georginio Wijnaldum have 2 and 3 goals, respectively.

Netherlands was the only top-20 team from the FIFA World Rankings in its group. It took care of business but hasn’t shown to be that next-level team quite yet.

The Czech Republic is coming into this match with a win, loss and draw in the group stage. It allowed just 2 goals across the matches, having taken on elite sides in Croatia and England. Czech Republic tied Croatia in an impressive performance.

This will be an uphill battle as the Netherlands’ aggressive attack will meet a more defensive-minded side. The winner of this game will go on to face Denmark, who made quick work of Wales in the first game of the Round of 16.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 5:35 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Netherlands -155 (bet $155 to win $100) | Czech Republiic +450 (bet $100 to win $450) | Draw +280

Prediction

Netherlands 3, Czech Republic 1

Money line (ML)

BET on NETHERLANDS (-155) despite the value not being the best. Sure, there’s a chance of a draw at the end of 90 minutes, but with the Netherlands -350 to advance, the regulation win odds are the better play.

That said, Netherlands has been a scoring machine with 8 goals in the group stage.

Only Italy, at plus-7, has a better goal differential. Wijnaldum and Depay have gotten the job done so far, and they’ve had both the finesse and athleticism to blow out opponents.

With the Czech not being much of an improvement over the teams the Netherlands already crushed, expect a solid victory for the favorite.

You can get the Netherlands to win and Over 2.5 goals for +145 which could be the best betting value.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-120) as the Netherlands topped the projected total on its own in two of the three group stage matches.

With only 5 goals scored in the Czech Republic’s three games, I expect the Netherlands to be in full control and set the pace. F Patrik Schick has all 3 Czech goals, and it hasn’t scored a non-penalty goal against a competent side.

Despite Czech potentially being shut out, the Over could still hit and has good value with how the Netherlands is playing. It has enough attacking prowess to make the Over a good play.
