2025 4-star OL out of Midlothian (TX) has committed to Texas A&M

The Aggies have added a future OL starter in the 2025 cycle

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class just added one of the rising prospects in the cycle, as head coach Mike Elko Aggies’ OL coach Adam Cushing have landed a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Nelson McGuire on Monday.

Standing at 6-4, 320 pounds, McGuire is one of the more athletic OL prospects in the class due to impressive footwork and hand placement, while his run-blocking skillset is starting to match with his pass protection prowess.

After visiting Texas A&M on Saturday during the Aggie’s Week 6 41-10 blowout win over the Missouri Tigers, McGuire knew that College Station would be his next home after watching A&M’s O-line dominate throughout the afternoon.

With his commitment, Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class now has 22 commits, including six offensive lineman, as Cushing’s OL development through six games this season has influenced nearly every offensive line prospect to at least consider the Aggies.

According to 247Sports, McGuire is positioned as the 30th-ranked IOL and the 83rd-ranked prospect in Texas.

Florida football sets official visit with coveted 2025 IOL recruit

The Gators have an important 2025 recruit set for an official visit against LSU.

The college football season is in full swing but Billy Napier and the Florida Gators nonetheless continue to pursue prep talent relentlessly on the recruiting trail. The latest news from the front has a member of the 2025 cycle coming to Gainesville in November.

Interior offensive lineman [autotag]Nelson McGuire[/autotag], a three-star talent out of Midlothian, Texas, who decommitted from the Minnesota Golden Gophers back in June, now has a date set with the Orange and Blue for Nov. 16 when the LSU Tigers come to town.

Napier and Co. offered the recruit a scholarship on Aug. 4 to which he responded positively.

“I know they are a good program and have a history of winning,” McGuire told Gators Online. “They are all about development over there at Florida. They are a great team. I just want to see where everything goes with them. I got to talk with the coaches a little bit more.”

The Auburn Tigers are currently in the lead for the offensive lineman’s talents.

“As of right now, they’re my leader,” McGuire told reporters. “No other school has shown me the kind of energy that they have. With the game, with the team, with the coaches and everything like that.”

The Clemson Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raiders are also reportedly in the mix.

Recruiting Summary

McGuire is ranked No. 527 overall and No. 34 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 45 and 542, respectively.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives Auburn a 57.1% chance of earning his commitment while Texas Tech trails behind at 38.5%.

The Midlothian, Texas, native is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 853 player in the class of 2025, No. 52 interior offensive lineman and No. 137 recruit from the state of Texas. His departure from the class immediately follows an official visit to in-state Texas Tech.

The Gophers still have 22 players committed to their class of 2025, only two who are currently ranked as blue-chip prospects.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025, meanwhile, added its 21st commitment on Saturday with the addition of three-star edge rusher Nicolas Clayton. The group ranks No. 12 in the national rankings and No. 4 in the new Big Ten.

The Badgers are 1-0 against the Gophers in the Luke Fickell era and will look to extend that mark when the two teams meet in Madison, Wisconsin, to close the 2024 regular season.
