Trending on social media can be a mixed bag these days, but Monday night, the news was all positive for the Nebraska Football team. College football analyst Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports reported that five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola would change his commitment from the Georgia to Nebraska.

The legacy recruit committed to the Bulldogs back in May, but his status with that program has recently changed, and the Huskers are taking advantage of the opportunity.

As a senior in high school, Raiola threw for 2,666 yards and 34 touchdowns, and just one interception. He accumulated 8,442 passing yards and 88 touchdowns with 11 interceptions for his career.

Director of Scouting for 247Sports, Andrew Ivin, had many positive things to say about the prospect.

“Must buy into the process at the program of his choice, but has the natural talent to be a true difference marker on Saturdays and then eventually Sundays if he can avoid setbacks. Might need a redshirt year or two before he’s ready to go, but appears to be ahead of the curve.”

Now, Raiola is scheduled to visit Nebraska this Friday with a chance to bolster the recruiting class of 2024. Find social media reactions to the news below.

College football’s signing day is fast approaching, and Nebraska continues to explore possible options for the 2024 recruiting class. This will be head coach Matt Rhule’s second recruiting class since taking over in Lincoln over a year ago.

The Huskers hold 26 commitments to their upcoming class and are ranked in the Top 25 nationally by all three major recruiting services (247Sports – 22nd, Rivals – 24th, On3 – 24th).

Two locations that Rhule and Director of Player Personnel Omar Hales have focused on are recruiting in-state and rebuilding Nebraska’s pipeline into Texas. Eight of the commitments to the class come from the state of Nebraska, while The Lone Star State has seven commitments.

The two top-ranked recruits for the class are tight end Carter Nelson and offensive lineman Grant Brix, who both hold a four-star rating with the three major recruiting services. It also contains multiple legacy recruits, such as Caleb Benning and Kamdyn Koch, to name a few.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers earned a massive addition to the 2024 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon. Interior offensive lineman Grant Brix of Logan-Magnolia High School made the announcement on social media.

“I am excited to announce I am a Cornhusker! Although there were great things about all of my top three schools, I firmly believe in what is being built by Coach Rhule and his staff. I want to thank everyone who has helped me and made this process special. God bless and GBR!!”

The four-star recruit is the consensus No. 1 player in the state of Iowa for the class of 2024. He is also ranked as one of the top interior linemen in the country.

Brix chose the Huskers over Oklahoma and Kansas State. Nebraska made headlines late last month after parking the Nebraska Football semi-truck outside the football field at Logan-Magnolia High School.

Recruiting service On3 says that Brix has all the talent to be successful at the next level.

One of the better movers among top 2024 offensive linemen. Light-footed and moves like a smaller player. Looks like a tight end at times. Fires off the ball with vigor. Works to finish blocks with authority once engaged.
