NC State is in the mix for an ACC Atlantic title. The Wolfpack head into this game in second place behind No. 9 Wake Forest (5-0 ACC). NCSU won for the fifth time in its last six games by downing Louisville 28-13 last week, despite trailing 10-7 entering the final quarter.
Florida State is coming off a 30-20 setback to Clemson which snapped a three-game win streak. The Seminoles have been pushing to become bowl-eligible after starting the season 0-4, but were held to just 241 total yards against the Tigers. The Seminoles have had recurrent issues on offense and are 11th in the ACC in total yards (391.1 per game).

Money line
Give the edge to the better defense — especially considering that team has the better quarterback — in this matchup, and that’s NC State. However, the price here has drifted upward since midweek. PASS, and take advantage of the 2-and-a-hook against the number.
Against the spread
The Seminoles are 1-5 ATS over their last six games against winning teams. The Wolfpack are 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 games against FSU.
The NCSU defense has the better havoc numbers and the better havoc preventing numbers, and the creation of turnovers figures to loom large in a game that figures to be close.
Then there is QB Devin Leary, a sophomore signal caller for the Wolfpack who hasn’t thrown a pick since week 2. Leary has completed 66.1% of his passes while piling up 21 touchdowns.
Florida State’s bread-and-butter on offense is its running game, but defending the run is a Wolfpack strong point. TAKE NC STATE -2.5 (-122).
Over/Under
This one game flows to a combined score very close to the number here. A 28-28 score at the end of regulation would not be a surprise. A slight shade toward a higher-50s tag makes the OVER 55.5 (-107) worth some partial-unit consideration.
