Prediction

Lakers 115, Cavaliers 102

Moneyline (ML)

The Lakers (-1429) are a monster moneyline favorite in this contest after winning eight straight games. They’ve been a dominant home team this season and would be a surprise to see the Cavaliers upset them at the Staples Center. However, there just isn’t enough value on either side, so PASS on this bet for better odds on the spread.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Lakers to win outright would return a profit of just 70 cents.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The CAVALIERS (+13.5, -106) open this game as double-digit underdogs to the Lakers. While Los Angeles has the conference’s best record, it hasn’t always fared well against the spread. In fact, the Lakers have failed to cover the spread in six straight games against opponents from the Central Division. While Cleveland certainly isn’t a top-flight opponent, 13.5 points are just too many to surrender for the Lakers. Give me the Cavs to cover this monster spread.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this matchup is set at 217.5, which feels just about right. While the over seems like a safe bet here, there is no telling from night to night which Cleveland offense will show up. The Cavs are currently 26th in scoring and will face one of the best defenses in the NBA Monday night. While I expect Cleveland to cover the spread, don’t look for it to get into a shootout against Los Angeles. I like the UNDER (+105) to hit in this one.

Prediction

Thunder 109, Lakers 107

Moneyline (ML)

After an impressive win in Dallas without Anthony Davis Friday night, the Lakers (-115) are moneyline favorites over the THUNDER (-106). But with Davis being questionable for the game, it’s fair to wonder how much the Lakers will have in them tonight against a pretty good Thunder team. Given the Thunder are home and have better odds, I’m taking them to upset the Lakers on Saturday night.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Thunder to win would return a profit of $9.43.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The THUNDER (+1.5, -121) are less than a basket underdogs to the Lakers, and that doesn’t make much sense considering they last played on Thursday and have won seven of their last eight games at home. They are also an incredible 8-0 against the spread in their previous eight contests and are suddenly one of the better teams in the west. Don’t be surprised if the Lakers have tired legs and fail to cover the spread despite being the better team. This is a game the Thunder should be able to steal.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this matchup is set at 217.5, which feels about right considering both of these teams are in the top 10 for scoring defense. If Davis doesn’t play, the Lakers might not have enough scoring to reach 105 points, making the over tough to pick. I like the UNDER (-115) to hit, albeit slightly.

Prediction

76ers 112, Thunder 107

Moneyline (ML)

The 76ERS (-334) are big moneyline favorites in this contest against the Thunder for obvious reasons. However, there are some reasons to avoid this line. The first is that the 76ers have been in a bit of a slump, losing four of straight and seven of 10. They have also lost 10 straight games to the Thunder at home, albeit that this is a far less-talented OKC team than in the past. While I like the 76ers to win this game, I’m avoiding the 76ers moneyline due to a lack of value.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the 7ers to win would return a profit of $2.99.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The THUNDER (+8.5, -129) are moderate underdogs in this contest despite going 5-0 against the spread in their last five contests. They are arguably one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season, going 23-12 ATS. With the 76ers still in a bit of a rut, the Thunder aren’t a bad bet as 8.5-point underdogs.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this matchup is set at 212.5 points, which feels about right considering the quality of these two defenses. However, the OVER (-115) seems like the right play here as it has hit in five straight games for the 76ers at home. Expect this to be a fast-paced game with the Thunder keeping it close in the fourth quarter.
