NBA Player Rankings: Kawhi Leonard dominating, Stephen Curry falling

With roughly 25 games having come and gone, let’s take a look at the NBA Player Rankings.

The talent pool in the NBA is at an all-time high. From San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama coming in as a 7-foot-3 (or taller) freak to LeBron James continuing to dominate the league at 38 years old. There are a ton of players playing at an All-Star (and MVP) level right now.

Selecting the best player in the world will always be a subjective task. In reality, there are about five different players with a case for number one, 20 with a case to be in the top 10, and 100 with a case to be in the top 50. Everything is close together because of the sheer talent of the players in the league right now. Winning matters, stats matter, and, especially since this is the first rankings of the season, the overall performance of the players this season matters.

With that being said, let’s conduct the first-ever Spurs Wire NBA Player Rankings, selecting the top 25 guys in the league right now. (Keywords: Right now.)

NBA fans are losing it over ESPN’s 2020-21 player rankings

Whew boy.

It’s that time of year again. The NBA season is almost upon us, so every publication that covers the NBA is releasing their preseason rankings of the league’s best teams and best players.

And every single year, like clockwork, fans lose their minds over the placement of their favorite teams and players from around the league. This year has been no different.

ESPN released a ranking of the top 100 players in the NBA for next season ranked from worst (100) to best (1) according to their panel of experts, and fans are absolutely livid on the internet.

This player is ranked too high. That player is ranked too low. How do you have this player ahead of THAT player? It’s all there. Some of it was justified. Some? Not so much. It was so bad that even some players got into the reaction.

We’ve got all of the reactions right here.
