Florida ‘on top’ for this 2024 legacy LB recruit after visit

It’s still early, but growing up with a Gator great for a dad seems to have had some influence on 4-star 2024 LB Myles Graham.

Four-star linebacker [autotag]Myles Graham[/autotag] is one of Florida’s priority targets out of the class of 2024. We knew that he left his most recent visit to the University of Florida holding the Gators in high regard, but Gators Online‘s most recent report sheds a bit more light on where exactly the Orange and Blue stand with the No. 3 linebacker in his class, according to the On3 consensus.

Graham placed the Gators around the top three but didn’t explicitly state any other schools or a list. That’s smart for someone who has well over a year to make a decision and is still working his way through preliminary unofficial visits. This was Graham’s second visit to the Swamp, and he got a little bit of time with coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and some other members of the staff.

“He (Napier) thinks I’m one of the best 24s in my class,” Graham said. “Coach just loves the way I play. He wants me to get back on campus really soon. I’ll probably get back down in the next two weeks.”

Keeping Graham close to campus should help Florida work from the top-three range to the very top of the pack. He’s been watching the Gators since he was a little kid, so that might not be too difficult of a jump to make over the summer. [autotag]Earnest Graham[/autotag], Myles’ father, played running back for the Gators and instilled a love for the team in his son when he was just a kid.

“They definitely sit on top, you know, top-three range,” he said. “I’ve always loved Florida ever since I was a kid, so definitely on top.”

There’s no doubt that Napier will lean on that relationship moving ahead to fend off the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State among others. The On3 Consensus ranks Graham the No. 3 linebacker in the class of 2024 and the No. 32 overall rising junior.

Gators get visit from this top 2024 legacy linebacker

The Gators are hot in pursuit of Earnest Graham’s 4-star son.

Florida football’s recruiting team has all hands on deck this month as Billy Napier and Co. welcome a plethora of prep prospects onto campus in an effort to rebuild the program from the ground up. But the focus has not entirely been on the 2023 class — despite the large number of visitors who are currently high school juniors, the Gators are also looking ahead to 2024.

Among the recruits that Florida is vying for in the next class is four-star linebacker [autotag]Myles Graham[/autotag] out of Atlanta (Georgia) Woodward Academy — a legacy of the Orange and Blue through his father Earnest, who played running back for the Gators straddled between the [autotag]Steve Spurrier[/autotag] and [autotag]Ron Zook[/autotag] eras. The 6-foot-1-inch, 200-pound back is obviously very familiar with the university through his dad but the Gators have worked hard to make his time in the Swamp count, including his visit this Sunday.

He told Swamp247 after his spring stop that he has started to get in with the new coaching staff.

“I had a lot of fun on my visit. I talked to the coaches, watched practice, the photoshoot was great. I really enjoyed my time. I think the biggest highlight was getting the offer from Coach [Billy] Napier and talking with Coach [Jay] Bateman. The photoshoot was really fun too.”

That family connection also runs very deep.

“Since I was a little kid I have been dreaming of getting this offer. I didn’t even know what college football really was, I just always wanted to play at Florida.”

Graham currently ranks No. 65 overall and No. 5 at his position nationally in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 32 and 3, respectively. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Auburn Tigers in the lead for his talents with an 18.4% chance of inking him while the Tennessee Volunteers are not far behind in second at 16.1% and the Gators in third at 13.8%.

Top Peach State LB will visit Clemson next month

A top Peach State linebacker drawing Clemson interest is aiming to pay the Tiger a visit this summer.

Myles Graham — a 6-foot-1, 210-pound four-star linebacker out of Atlanta’s Woodward Academy — told The Clemson Insider Friday that the Tigers have shown interest, but they’re, of course, unable to communicate with the 2024 recruiting class directly until Sept. 1.

“They really want to get me on campus this summer,” Graham said. “They said that I don’t necessarily have to camp, but I might just camp anyway. But, they want me to come and check out the campus.”

Graham has been in contact with Clemson defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Wesley Goodwin and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed. Graham said that Goodwin seems like a “great coach and a great dude” and that he’s looking forward to meeting him.

“I want to see how he coaches and how he teaches,” Graham said of Goodwin.

Graham was supposed to attend Clemson’s Orange & White Spring Game, but a change of plans prevented him from doing so. His teammates — AJ Hoffler and Andrew Hines III — have raved to him about their respective Clemson visits and everything the Tigers have to offer.

“Andrew was saying that it’s different, it’s different from a lot of colleges,” Graham said. “They said that the feel there for the recruits, the family feel is just different from the rest. I’m going to check it out for myself for sure.”

Graham has yet to set a visit to Clemson but imagines that will be happening very soon. Right now, he has visits to Notre Dame (June 5-6 ), Tennessee (June 26) and Michigan State (July 30).

This summer, Graham just wants to get on visits and get to know more coaching staff(s). He’ll reevaluate his options from there. As far as the rest of his recruitment is concerned, he pinpointed schools like Texas A&M, Florida and Ohio State as those currently recruiting him the hardest.

“I’m looking for a great coaching staff that cares about me on and off the field,” Graham said when asked what he’ll be looking for when he takes his visits this summer. “A winning culture, nice facilities and just wherever fits me best.”

If Clemson does end up pulling the trigger on a potential offer, what would that mean for Graham and his recruitment?

“It would be amazing,” he said. “They obviously haven’t offered a lot of sophomores in my class, so it would definitely be a blessing and I would definitely take it seriously because it would mean a lot.”

Rivals considers Graham to be the No. 2 safety and the nation’s No. 24 overall prospect in the class of 2024. 247Sports has him pegged as the No. 9 linebacker and the nation’s No. 144 overall prospect in his class.

Interest from Clemson a ‘great feeling’ for fast-rising Peach State LB

During the live period, Clemson stopped by the school of a talented Peach State linebacker. Co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Wesley Goodwin visited with Woodward Academy’s (College, Park) Myles Graham.

Graham — a 6-1, 210-pound sophomore — told The Clemson Insider that the Tigers have shown interest, but they’re, of course, unable to communicate with the 2024 recruiting class directly until Sept. 1.

“He just said that they don’t really offer the class of 2024, but they like my film and my size,” Graham recalled. “They’re gonna be interested if we can build a relationship and see how it goes over the next couple of years.”

What does that mean to the Under Armor All-American?

“It means a lot,” he said. “It’s obviously one of the best programs in the country. It’s a great feeling.”

Graham’s been on quite the journey.

He went from tearing his meniscus to being one of the fastest-rising prospects in the entire country. For lack of a better word, his recruitment has blown up. While rehabbing back from his torn meniscus, there were moments of weakness, but he never let that cast any doubt over his future in football.

“When I tore it, I was at my lowest, but I didn’t let it weigh me down,” Graham explained. “I kind of just kept grinding. I put all my faith in God. It’s one of the best feelings in the world seeing my hard work pay off after all that physical therapy…I feel like I earned every bit of it. I worked really hard to have what I have now.”

Believe it or not, that injury came during the first game of his freshman season. He was able to bounce back as a sophomore at Evangelical Christian High School (Fort Myers, Fla.) and recorded 130 tackles with eight pass deflections, two forced fumbles and an interception.

Graham plays with a lot of tenacity and drive. He’s also very aggressive and physical. A player that Graham tries to emulate in his play is former University of Georgia linebacker and future first-round pick, Nakobe Dean. He has that same level of freedom to fly around the field and make plays.

Prior to transferring to Woodward Academy, Graham was able to come back and be the type of player that he set out to be. He put what he needed to on film and got positive feedback from college coaches around the country, but it didn’t come as naturally as it sounds. Graham didn’t just flip a switch. He put in the hard work and effort and earned every offer that he’s accumulated.

“I had my doubts over time,” Graham said. “I had my ups and downs, but overall, I stayed 10 toes down, I stayed hungry and everything came full circle. I got what I earned and I’m still going.”

Graham earned his first Division I offer from Dartmouth College back on Sept. 24, 2021. Though, it wasn’t until November of last year that his recruitment skyrocketed. He now has offers from 25 FBS programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Ole Miss, to name a few.

It’s still relatively early in Graham’s recruitment. He’s gonna take as many visits as possible and whoever shows him the most love is where he’s gonna show love in return.
