Simone Biles seemingly had a laugh about MyKayla Skinner blocking her on social media

Simone Biles is gleefully taking her revenge.

Note to self: Never get on Simone Biles’ bad side.

After Biles led Team USA to a gold medal in the women’s gymnastics all-around final at the Paris Olympics, making hilarious TikToks wasn’t the only way she gloated. A cryptic triumphant Instagram post from Biles appeared to call out former teammate McKayla Skinner for being critical of the American gymnasts’ work ethic in the past. Needless to say, partner-in-crime Suni Lee enjoyed Biles’ not-so-subtle call out.

Also, poor McKayla Maroney for being put in the crosshairs because of unfortunate spelling.

After the dust of all the online drama finally settled, Biles put the best possible bow on this situation: She seemingly laughed about Skinner finally blocking her on social media.

As the greatest American gymnast of all time, Biles has certainly earned the right to be this petty. Again, for the life of me, I could never understand even passively trying to alienate her.

Suni Lee loved that Simone Biles called out MyKayla Skinner after Team USA gymnastics’ Olympic gold medal

Simone Biles: Olympic champion and elite teammate.

Elite competitors can find motivation anywhere. And for U.S. gymnastics star Simone Biles, that extra motivation came from a former teammate.

In the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, former Team USA women’s gymnastics star MyKayla Skinner offered a pointed criticism of the current group heading to Paris. Skinner — in a YouTube appearance — claimed that this year’s team lacked the talent, depth and work ethic of previous Team USA squads. Skinner did eventually apologize for the remarks, but you best believe that the team remembered those comments after Tuesday’s Olympic gold medal-winning performance.

Biles mocked Skinner’s comments in a celebratory Instagram post. And Olympic teammate Suni Lee particularly loved how Biles called out Skinner.

In a comment on the initial post, Lee wrote, “Put a finger down if Simone Biles just ended you.”

Skinner apparently didn’t take kindly to the shade either as it looked like she blocked Biles.

Simone Biles seemingly called out former teammate MyKayla Skinner’s criticism after winning gold with Team USA gymnastics

Simone Biles seemed to have some words for a former teammate after taking the gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After winning yet another Olympic gold medal with Team USA women’s gymnastics on Tuesday, all-star gymnast Simone Biles seemingly called out one of her 2021 Olympic teammates on Instagram.

The comment likely stems from former Team USA gymnastics standout MyKayla Skinner criticizing the new roster of American women’s gymnasts, specifically calling out their perceived lack of talent and work ethic — outside of Biles.

“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” Skinner said on a recent YouTube video, per Sporting News.

“A lot of girls don’t work as hard. It’s hard too because of SafeSport. Coaches can’t get on athletes which in some ways is really good but at the same time, to get to where you need to be in gymnastics you do have to be…a little aggressive, a little intense.”

Skinner issued two different apologies for her remarks, saying in part that she was comparing the 2024 Olympic team to the 2021 Olympic team she competed with that was guided by the controversial techniques of gymnastics coach Marta Karolyi.

“Upon reflection, I was comparing the ‘Marta Era’ to the current era. I am coming to terms that I have not fully dealt with the emotional and verbal abuse I endured under Marta that perhaps led to my hurtful comments. I take full responsibility for what I said and deeply apologize,” Skinner wrote on Instagram earlier this month.

Well, Biles still seemed to take Skinner’s comments personally, as she shared a photo of this year’s Olympic team celebrating its gold medals on Instagram with the caption, “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.”
