Kyler Murray‘s 2019 stats

Murray finished his 16-game rookie season with 3,722 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He added 544 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.

He led his team to a 5-10-1 record and took home the 2019 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Is Kyler Murray worth a 2020 NFL MVP bet?

Before free agency, Murray was already one of the best longshot bets to win the 2020 NFL MVP. He was significantly better in the second half of his rookie season and the Cardinals were a more competitive team. With Monday’s trade acquisition of WR DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals now have one of the better wide receiver corps in the NFL with Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk.

If the Cardinals can upgrade their offensive line during the 2020 NFL Draft, which they are expected to do at pick No. 8, Murray could put up monster numbers in head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. It wouldn’t be a shock to see him account for 40 or more touchdowns as the Cardinals should be one of the higher scoring teams in the NFL.

If Arizona can flirt with a playoff berth and Murray can put up these type of numbers, then he is an excellent bet at +3300. Expect the odds to fall as the Cardinals upgrade their offensive line and more people get behind the second-year quarterback making a leap in 2020. He’ll likely enter the 2020 season as a much heavier favorite.

Kirk Cousins’ stats

Cousins completed 69.1 percent of 444 pass attempts for 3,603 yards with 26 touchdowns against six interceptions last season. He added one rushing score. He has guided the Vikings to an 18-12-1 record in two seasons since signing as a free agent. The former fourth-round pick of the Washington Redskins has thrown 56 touchdown passes against 16 interceptions while completing 69.7 percent of his pass attempts for 7,901 yards over the last two seasons.

Cousins was awarded a two-year contract extension Monday, March 16, entering his ninth NFL season. He can now make up to $96 million over the next three seasons with $61 million guaranteed.

Is Kirk Cousins worth a 2020 NFL MVP bet?

The Vikings made it to the NFC Divisional Round last season before losing 27-10 to the San Francisco 49ers. The NFC North is once again projected to be one of the NFL’s toughest divisions, with the Vikes needing to overcome the 2019 champion Green Bay Packers while holding off the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Cousins will have extra attention on him in 2020 following the large extension. He represents an adequate value bet against his competition at his position and against the rest of the league.

Back KIRK COUSINS at +4000 to be named the 2020 NFL MVP.

Broncos QB Drew Lock has 150/1 odds to win NFL MVP award

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is considered a longshot to win the NFL MVP award in 2020.

Oddsmakers don’t like Drew Lock’s chances of winning the NFL MVP award next season. Lock, who went 4-1 as a starter with the Broncos last year, has 150/1 odds to win the award in 2020, according to BetMGM.

That means if a fan bets $100 that Lock will win the MVP award and the QB does so, that fan would receive a payout of $15,100.

Lock, 23, completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards with seven touchdown passes against three interceptions in five games last year. If he had kept up that pace and played a full 16-game season, Lock would have had a 3,264-yard, 22-touchdown year.

Last year, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took home MVP honors after gaining over 4,000 yards and scoring 43 touchdowns. The year before that, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took home MVP honors after totaling more than 5,000 yards and scoring 52 touchdowns.

Given the standard established in recent years of what an MVP season looks like, it seems fair for Las Vegas to consider Lock a longshot to win the award. Unless he makes a massive jump in production, Lock probably won’t be in the running to take home MVP honors next season.

Minshew, Foles, and Fournette all given same odds to win MVP in 2020

Three Jags on the offensive end currently have 150/1 odds to win MVP, which means a lot of work needs to be done for the team.

According to BetMGM, even the Jacksonville Jaguars’ top stars will be longshots to win the MVP award in 2020. Whether it’s quarterbacks Nick Foles or Gardner Minshew II or running back Leonard Fournette, all three were given the same exact odds of 150/1, which are the same figures future rookie selections Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert received.

After two consecutive disappointing seasons, it isn’t exactly shocking to see each of the Jags’ top stars with such low odds because the Jags have a lot of work to do around them to become postseason contenders. Both Minshew and Foles will have a battle to start this offseason, but even when that is decided, they’ll need upgrades on the offensive line, at tight end, and at receiver. The Jags’ offensive line woes also apply to Leonard Fournette as well.

As for those who topped the list, Patrick Mahomes came in with the best odds to win the annual award, with odds of 4/1. Behind him were quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson, who had odds of 5/1 and 6/1, respectively.
