Action Network lists MSU Football win total surprisingly low for 2024 season

It’s safe to say the experts at Action Network are not high on the Spartans entering the 2024 season

I’m a little biased, but it’s surprising to see how low the Action Network is on the Spartans heading into the 2024 season.

Action Network released their 2024 win totals for each of the Big Ten teams on Tuesday, and the Spartans were tied for the lowest total at 4.5. Purdue also is set at 4.5 wins for the 2024 season.

Ohio State and Oregon were tied at the top of the league with 10.5 wins, with Michigan and Penn State right behind at 9.5 wins. The complete listing of all the Big Ten teams is included below:

Cover 3 Podcast all take the over on MSU football win total for 2023

The Cover 3 Podcast is riding with the Spartans to win at least five games this fall

The Cover 3 Podcast is riding with the Spartans this fall. Well, to at least win five games, that is.

The Cover 3 Podcast — which is one of the best college football podcasts out there and a personal favorite of mine — has been releasing their win total picks for the upcoming season for each Power 5 conference team. That included the Spartans on Monday, which saw Tom Fornelli, Chip Patterson, Bud Elliott and Danny Kanell all taking the over on 4.5 wins for Michigan State in 2023.

The 4.5-win total for the Spartans is truly outrageously low to me but I’m also a little biased in my expectations for Michigan State this upcoming year. So it’s refreshing to see all four of these college football experts taking the over too.

Check out all of their picks for the Big Ten East Division teams below:

Caeser’s sets Michigan State football win total over/under at 4.5 wins

One of the biggest sports books in the United States doesn’t see Michigan State winning many games in 2020.

College football may or may not be played this fall, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bet on it right now.

Caesers Entertainment has released its season win totals for the 2020 college football season and they think Michigan State could be in for a long season. The Spartans over/under win total is set at 4.5 wins for Mel Tucker’s first year. That means an over bet would require five wins or more to cash, while and under bet would need four or fewer wins.

You may be thinking to yourself, “Hey, that seems low. Maybe they are accounting for the chance that games aren’t played this fall!”

Nope. A stipulation of the bet is that all 12 games must be played in order for the bets to count. Also, postseason games do no count. So, Caesers thinks Tucker’s first season is going to be a long one with few wins to come by. Given what Michigan State lost from its 2019 team and the fact that they’re breaking in an almost entirely new coaching staff during a pandemic, I’d say the low number isn’t much of a surprise.
