Top 2022 basketball prospect Emoni Bates reportedly calls MSU his ‘dream school’

The No. 1 high school prospect in the country recently referred to Michigan State as his dream school, according to a Twitter user.

The best high school basketball player in the world right now, regardless of age, is Emoni Bates. The top 2022 basketball prospect has already received comparisons to Kevin Durant and is all but guaranteed to emerge as the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft. The hype behind Bates, who lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan, is immense, and according to Tipton Edits, a Twitter user who has connections in the college basketball recruiting world, Bates recently called MSU his ‘dream school.’

The only question is, will Bates even spend time in school? There is still rampant speculation about the NBA changing the rules by the time Bates would be eligible to play for the Spartans. If the NBA does allow high school players to enter the NBA Draft in 2022, Bates would be the focus, and the face, of that decision.

Here is the initial tweet from Tipton Edits:

Bates has been around the program since he first got to high school, and MSU is the frontrunner along with Kentucky to land his recruitment if he goes to school, but that is still a fairly big ‘if’ at this point so temper your expectations accordingly.

New MSU Football HC Mel Tucker offers scholarships to two 2021 3-star prospects

Michigan State’s new head coach Mel Tucker has extended scholarship offers to two 3-star prospects in the 2021 class.

A big reason why Michigan State poached new head coach Mel Tucker from Colorado was for his reputation as one of the top recruiters in college football, and the new leader of MSU Football has already started working on his 2021 recruiting class. Two 2021 3-star recruits announced on Twitter on Tuesday that they had received scholarship offers from the Spartans.

The first player to announce his offer was Cameron James, a huge, 6’8″ offensive tackle from Simeon High School in Chicago, Illinois. Tucker has a reputation of loving big offensive linemen so this certainly fits the bill. 247sports has James listed as the No. 46 ranked offensive tackle in the 2021 class.

Shortly after James announced his offer, Ari Patu announced his own. Patu is a dual-threat quarterback out of Folsom High School in California and 247sports has him listed as the No. 12 ranked dual-threat QB in his class.

Recruiting will be something we monitor closely under the Tucker regime, so stay tuned for more info.
