Michigan State basketball picked up a big-time road win over Penn State on Wednesday evening.

The Spartans entered this matchup in the midst of a two-game losing streak and as a rare underdog against the Nittany Lions, but were able to come out with the 67-58 victory. Michigan State was bolstered by strong play from A.J. Hoggard — who finished with a career-high 23 points — and Tyson Walker (14 points).

The Spartans overcame a rough start and early 10-point deficit to knock off Penn State, 67-58, to snap a two-game losing streak. Michigan State defensively clamped down in the second half and got a career-high 23 points from A.J. Hoggard to pick up the win.

With the victory, Michigan State is 6-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Michigan State’s brutal schedule will begin to lighten up over the next few weeks, starting with a home non-conference matchup against Brown on Saturday.
