The countdown to Aug. 31 has begun, Spartans fans.

The college football offseason is upon us and the 2024 season can’t come soon enough with plenty of excitement surrounding the Michigan State program. The Spartans are coming off a pair of losing seasons but have a new leader at the helm of the program in new head coach Jonathan Smith to hopefully get things back on track in East Lansing, Mich.

It’s time to flush the 2023 season and look ahead to 2024. Here is the finalized Michigan State football 2024 schedule:

The Michigan State 2024 football schedule has officially been finalized.

The Big Ten released the complete 2024 schedule on Thursday, which includes nine conference games per team. Michigan State will be part of the first Big Ten game of the year when they head to Maryland in week two on Sept. 7. The rest of the Big Ten slate includes home games against Ohio State, Iowa, Indiana, Purdue and Rutgers, and road games at Oregon, Michigan and Illinois.

Michigan State’s non-conference schedule includes home games against Florida Atlantic and Louisiana, and a road game at Boston College.

Michigan State football will be heading to Oregon next year as a new Big Ten conference matchup.

The Big Ten released the official conference schedule for the next five seasons on Thursday, with the most notable update being a road game at Oregon in the Ducks first year in the league. Michigan State will also play Michigan, Maryland and Illinois on the road, and host Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers as part of the 2024 conference schedule.

Other big takeaways from the upcoming conference schedules released on Thursday includes a road game at USC and home game against UCLA in 2025, and home matchups against Oregon and Washington in 2026.
