Michigan State basketball picked up its tenth win of the season on Saturday.

The Spartans made relatively easy work of visiting Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon at the Breslin Center. Michigan State won by the final score of 87-69, with the Spartans leading by double-digits throughout the entire second half.

With the win, Michigan State improved to 10-2 overall on the year. This was the fifth straight victory for the Spartans.

Michigan State basketball continued its winning ways on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans controlled the game most of the way en route to an 86-69 victory over Florida Atlantic from the Breslin Center on Saturday. The Spartans built up a double-digit lead going into halftime and never let the Owls get it back within single digits in the second half for the convincing victory.

Michigan State was led in scoring by Coen Carr, who finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jaden Akins (13 points), Jeremy Fears (13 points) and Frankie Fidler (10 points) also hit double-digits in scoring in the win.

With the victory, Michigan State improved to 10-2 overall this year. The Spartans have won five straight games and eight of their last nine.

Michigan State will return to the court on December 30 in its final non-conference game of the regular season against Western Michigan. This game will be played at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State football has named its players of the game from its victory over Florida Atlantic.

A handful of Spartans have earned recognition from head coach Jonathan Smith for their play in the victory over the Owls. Here’s a breakdown of the players of the game for the Spartans:

  • Linebacker Cal Haladay was the Defensive Player of the Game
  • Running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams was the Offensive Player of the Game
  • Long snapper Kaden Schickel was the Special Teams Player of the Game
  • Defensive Tackle D’Quan Douse was the Lineman of the Game

Michigan State football returns to the field this next week in a road conference game at Maryland. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Michigan State football was in a battle on Friday night and the Spartans fans certainly helped in the win over Florida Atlantic.

The Spartans’ defense came up with multiple key stops late to earn the victory over the Owls by the final score of 16-10. Michigan State’s offense struggled in the second half but the defense was able to stand tall to help preserve the win.

New Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith was especially apprecitive of the Spartans fans in attendance on Friday. Following the win, Smith took to the social media platform X to thank Spartan Nation for the support and “huge impact” they had on the game.

MSU starting QB Aidan Chiles received high praise from opposing head coach despite poor performance vs. FAU

It wasn’t a great night for new Michigan State starting quarterback Aidan Chiles, but he still earned the praise from the opposing head coach.

Florida Atlantic head coach Tom Herman shared positive remarks about Chiles following the Spartans’ narrow 16-10 victory over the Owls. According to Kenny Jordan of On3, Herman stated Chiles is “special” and he was really impressed by his play.

Chiles finished his first career start completing only 10 of 24 pass attempts for 114 yards and two interceptions. He did run for one of the Spartans’ two touchdowns on the night.
