Projecting the 2023-24 Michigan State basketball rotation after Akins, Hoggard announce returns

With the decision of Jaden Akins and A.J. Hoggard to withdraw from the 2023 NBA draft, the 2023-24 Michigan State basketball roster looks to finally be finalized after a few months of questions following MSU’s loss to Kansas State in the 2023 NCAA tournament.

This is a roster that is projected to be competing for an NCAA championship, but what will that rotation look like? With a lot of talent both returning and incoming, it should be interesting to see where everyone slots in. We took our best stab at projecting what that rotation might look like below.

Couch: Analyzing next season’s Michigan State basketball roster

Michigan State basketball could be very good next year depending on how some key roster decisions pan out

Michigan State basketball could be very good next year depending on how key roster decisions pan out.

The Spartans enter the offseason as one of the favorites to win the Big Ten next season, and they could be the stand-alone favorite if Tyson Walker and Malik Hall return. There also would be a trickle-down effect should those two return for another season in the green-and-white in 2023-24.

So how does Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal envision the Spartans’ roster looking next season? Click on the tweet below to read Couch’s analysis on what the Spartans’ 2023-24 roster could look like:

Michigan State basketball 2022-23 regular season roster breakdown, stats, and analysis

We took a look at how each Michigan State basketball player performed during the regular season:

We are officially in March, or as some people call it: IZZO.

This was, for some very specific and sad reasons, a tough season for Michigan State basketball. However, the Spartans have been playing some of the best offensive basketball I’ve ever seen from a recent Izzo squad as they head into the postseason.

With the regular season in the books and our minds on tournament season, we thought now would be a good time to look at how the roster performed from top-to-bottom this season.

You can see our thoughts on each player, along with his stats, below.
