The Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights play Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Semifinals series Tuesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena. Below, we analyze the Canadiens vs. Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.
The Canadiens came up just short on home ice in Game 4, falling 2-1 in overtime, but they continue to make life very rough on the Golden Knights. Many Montreal fans (and bettors) were angered with the officiating in the OT loss, too.
The Golden Knights blew a lead in Game 3 after a misplay by Marc-Andre Fleury late in regulation that forced OT. They eventually lost, and head coach Peter DeBoer shook things up by putting Robin Lehner in for Fleury – it worked.

Canadiens at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies
Carey Price (12-7-5, 2.64 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO) at Marc-Andre Fleury (26-10-0, 1.98 GAA, .928 SV%, 6 SO). Stats from regular season.
Price was rarely tested in Game 4, facing just 21 shots. He wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t great either. He allowed the game-winning goal to Nicolas Roy just 78 seconds into overtime.
Fleury was rested in Game 4, as DeBoer cited fatigue for the veteran, and Robin Lehner turned aside 27 of the 28 shots he faced. Both Lehner and Fleury have proven to be No. 1 caliber goalies, which is a great problem for DeBoer to have.

Canadiens at Golden Knights: Odds, lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Golden Knights 3, Canadiens 2
Money line (ML)
The Golden Knights (-240) should be able to eke out a victory in this decisive Game 5, but it won’t be anything like the carnage we saw in the other series with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Islanders. This game will be super close, and another overtime game wouldn’t be shocking.

Against the spread (ATS)
The CANADIENS +1.5 (-140) are worth a roll of the dice on the puck line, as they have played the Golden Knights extremely tough. The past two games went to overtime, with the teams each picking up a win, and each of the past three have been one-goal games. Keep riding the underdog.
Over/Under (O/U)
The TOTAL of 5 should come down right on the number. The Under is officially 1-0-3 in this series so far. If there was a “lean” it would be UNDER 5.5 (-150) on the alternate line. The top six forwards of the Golden Knights have not shown up in this series, and they have given no signs of warming up.
