Analyzing Saturday’s Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts Week 17 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Montreal Alouettes (11-2-1) and Toronto Argonauts (7-7) meet for a Week 17 matchup Saturday at BMO Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Alouettes vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The 1st-place Alouettes bounced back from a 19-19 tie against the Calgary Stampeders in Week 15 with a 24-12 road win against the Ottawa Redblacks, covering as 3-point favorites. That halted an 0-3 against-the-spread (ATS) skid. The Under has cashed in 3 of the past 4 outings.

The Argonauts suffered a 33-31 loss against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 16 as 6.5-point favorites as the Over (52) cashed. The Argos have dropped 3 of the past 4 games, while going 1-4 ATS in the previous 5 outings. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 games and 5-2 across the past 7 contests.

These teams have split the season series so far. Montreal won 30-20 at Toronto June 28 as a 3-point favorite as the Under (50.5) cashed, while the Argos picked up a 37-18 road win July 11 at Molson Memorial Stadium, cashing as 7-point underdogs as the Over (49.5) hit.

Alouettes at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Alouettes 29, Argonauts 25

Moneyline

The ALOUETTES (-130) are a solid play in this game. The road team has won each of the meetings this season, and the visitor is a perfect 4-0 straight up dating back to Sept. 15, 2023.

Montreal comes with a cheap price tag for the No. 1 team in the CFL against a .500 team. Take advantage.

Against the spread

Back the ALOUETTES -1.5 (-110) laying the little bit of points on the road. Montreal is 3-1 ATS in the past 4 meetings with the rival Argonauts +1.5 (-110). And while the Als are just 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games, they’re still an impressive 5-3 ATS across the past 8 outings.

The Argos just cannot seem to get anything going on a consistent basis. They’ve dropped 3 of the past 4 outings, while going 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games. Back the better team, and that’s easily the Als.

Over/Under

OVER 51.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Over has hit in 3 of the past 4 games for the Argos, going for 27 or more points in 4 in a row and 5 of the past 6 outings. And defensively, Toronto has coughed up 31 or more points in 3 of the past 4 games and 25 or more points in 5 of the previous 7 contests.

For the Alouettes, while the Under is 3-1 in the past 4 outings, the Over and Under have split 3-3 across the past 6 games. Go lightly on the Over.

Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts Week 4 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Montreal Alouettes (3-0) and the Toronto Argonauts (2-0) meet Friday for a Week 4 battle at BMO Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Alouettes vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The defending champion Alouettes are looking to show last season wasn’t a fluke. Montreal has won all 3 games to start the season, including an emphatic 47-21 win over the Ottawa RedBlacks last weekend as a 6.5-point favorite in the home opener as the Over (47.5) cashed.

The Als head out on the road where they are 2-0 this season, while going 1-1 against the spread (ATS). Montreal failed to cover as a 4-point favorite in a 23-20 win at Edmonton in Week 2 and opened the season with a 27-12 victory at Winnipeg as a 7.5-point underdog. The Under cashed in both road contests so far.

The Argonauts were expected to struggle with the CFL’s most outstanding player, QB Chad Kelly, suspended 9 games for violating the CFL’s gender-based violence policy. Instead, the Toronto offense has thrived, averaging 37.0 points per game (PPG) in a pair of wins and Over results to start the season.

Argos QB Cameron Dukes has completed a whopping 81.3% of his pass attempts for 468 yards with 5 TDs and no picks, while running for 54 yards and a pair of scores. New addition RB Ka’Deem Carey has averaged 4.8 yards per carry, helping take pressure off the pass game, while picking up 169 rushing yards and 1 TD.

Unfortunately for Toronto, Carey is listed as questionable due to a groin injury, so that’s a concern. In addition, leading receiver Dejon Brissett is out due to a knee ailment.

Alouettes at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Alouettes 30, Argonauts 23

Moneyline

MONTREAL (-165) is a solid play as a moderate favorite on the moneyline, as it isn’t priced out of line.

Toronto (+140) would be an attractive pick as a home underdog, but with Carey nursing a groin and his status in question, while leading receiver Brissett is out, the Als are the much safer play Friday.

Against the spread

MONTREAL -3 (-115) is a strong play laying the points on the road. While Dukes and Toronto have been strong on offense, it could have a different look if Carey is unable to play, putting more pressure on Dukes to perform.

The Als can do a little bit on offense, too, going for 47 points last weekend against the RedBlacks. Montreal piled up 394 passing yards, and 162 return yards, while also posting 96 yards on the ground. If the Als can cut down on the penalties, after committing 7 last weekend, it will be in even better shape. Montreal was plus-2 on turnovers, which is good news.

Over/Under

OVER 51.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Als posted 47 points last weekend against the RedBlacks, but be careful, as the Under has cashed twice in 2 road contests for Montreal.

The Over has hit in both games to date for the Argonauts, who are averaging 37.0 points per game and allowing 31.5 PPG. Plus, the Over has cashed in 3 of the previous 4 meetings between these rivals at BMO Field.

Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts Week 14 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Montreal Alouettes (6-5) and the Toronto Argonauts (9-1) meet Saturday afternoon at BMO Field in Toronto. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CFL+/TSN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Alouettes vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Alouettes suffered a 34-25 setback at home against the BC Lions last weekend, dropping their 2nd straight game. Montreal is also 0-3 against the spread (ATS) in the past 3 outings but has cashed the Over in 4 in a row. The defense has struggled lately, allowing 35.0 points per game (PPG) in the past 3 contests.

The Argonauts racked up a 41-28 win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week, winning for the 3rd straight game since Toronto’s lone setback in Calgary in Week 9. Toronto is 8-2 ATS in the past 10 games and has cashed the Over in the past 3 contests.

Toronto went to Montreal in Week 6 and won 35-27 as a 6-point favorite as the Over (48) connected.

Alouettes at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 29, Alouettes 25

Moneyline

The Argonauts (-550) will set you back quite a hefty amount to wager their moneyline as you’re forced to risk 5 1/2 times your potential return. That’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward, especially in a potentially close game between these East Division rivals.

PASS.

Against the spread

The ALOUETTES +9.5 (-110) almost catching double digits is way too much in this rivalry. While Montreal has failed to cover 3 in a row, the Als were 20-9 ATS in the past 29 trips to Toronto.

The edge goes to the Alouettes in the past 6 meetings, with Montreal going 3-2-1 ATS. The last time there was a double-digit spread in this series, the Argonauts covered as a 10.5-point road ‘dog on Oct. 18, 2019.

Over/Under

OVER 52.5 (-110) is the lean, but go very lightly.

The Over has cashed in each of the past 3 meetings in this series and is 5-2 across the past 7. The past 3 battles have seen an average of 64.7 combined points per game, which is well above the Over (48) in each of those contests.

The Over is 5-2 in the past 7 home games for Toronto and is 7-1 in the past 8 road outings for Montreal. The Over has cashed in 4 straight games for the Als, while also going 4-0 in the past 4 against winning teams.
