LSU coach Ed Orgeron says Tory Carter, Mo Hampton back for Alabama

LSU will have Tory Carter and Mo Hampton back against Alabama.

As the LSU Tigers prepare to host No. 1 Alabama on Saturday evening in Baton Rouge, head coach Ed Orgeron announced that his team was getting two key players back for the matchup on Wednesday.

Senior fullback/tight end Tory Carter, who did not dress in the loss at Texas A&M, has been reinstated and will play against the Crimson Tide.

Without Carter, LSU could get nothing going in the running game. LSU tried, unsuccessfully, to use star freshman Arik Gilbert as a lead blocker at times against the Aggies.

If LSU is to pull off the major upset, the Tigers must have a strong running game.

Defensively, sophomore safety Mo Hampton returns to action after missing the two previous games. Hampton started LSU’s first four games before coming off the bench in the loss to Auburn.

Despite struggling through the first five games of the season, LSU’s defense has been much better in the last two weeks.

The Tigers will need all possible reinforcements when they face an Alabama offense averaging 47 points per game.
