UFC on ESPN 30: Andre Petroski vs. Michael Gillmore odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 30 odds and lines between Andre Petroski and Michael Gillmore, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a middleweight bout on the main card, Andre Petroski faces Michael Gillmore Saturday at UFC on ESPN 30 – also known as UFC Vegas 35 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 30 Petroski vs. Gillmore odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The entire card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims beginning at 7 p.m. ET and the main card at 10 p.m. ET.

Petroski is making his UFC debut. After winning his first five professional fights, all via stoppage, he has lost two straight bouts. He was dropped via TKO in Round 2 against Aaron Jeffery Oct. 16, 2020, and he lost via submission/guillotine at The Ultimate Fighter 29 Semifinal Aug. 3.

Gillmore is also making his UFC debut. He has won three straight professional bouts, including a unanimous-decision victory over Perry Stargel at WXC 86 Jan. 29, 2020.

UFC on ESPN 30 Petroski vs. Gillmore: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Petroski 5-2-0 | Gillmore 6-3-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Petroski (-550) will cost you more than five times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive.

Instead, look to PETROSKI BY SUBMISSION (+100) at even-money for a much better value. He is 2-1 via submission in his seven career professional fights, while all three of Gillmore’s pro losses were via submission.

Over/Under (O/U)

You cannot bet No (-350): Will the fight go the distance?, due to low odds and lack of reward.

Instead, look to PETROSKI TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+285) and PETROSKI TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+1000) for a two-round betting block. Yes, you will lose one of those ends if he comes through with a submission win in Rounds 2-3, but you’ll still be quite ahead.

UFC on ESPN 30: Bryan Battle vs. Gilbert Urbina odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 30 odds and lines between Bryan Battle and Gilbert Urbina, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a middleweight bout on the main card, Bryan Battle faces Gilbert Urbina Saturday at UFC on ESPN 30 – also known as UFC Vegas 35 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 30 Battle vs. Urbina odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The prelims will be televised on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card on ESPN/ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET.

Battle will make his UFC debut after picking up a submission win over Andre Petroski in Round 2 at The Ultimate Fighter 29 Semifinal. Battle has rattled off five straight wins – all via stoppage – since a submission/armbar loss on Sept. 14, 2019, at Fight For It 8 against Nickalas Martino. That streak includes four submission wins and a KO/TKO. All four of his career submission victories have come via chokeholds.

Urbina will also be making his UFC debut after he suffered a Round 2 KO/TKO loss to Tresean Gore at The Ultimate Fighter 29 Semifinal. He has suffered losses in two of the past three pro fights. Urbina has gone the distance in four of his eight career pro bouts, including two of his last three.

UFC on ESPN 30 Battle vs. Urbina: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:08 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Battle -190 (bet $190 to win $100) | Gilbert +145 (bet $100 to win $145)
  • Total Rounds: 2.5 Rounds (Over -145 | Under +105)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes: -125 | No: -110)

UFC on ESPN 30 Battle vs. Urbina: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Battle 6-1-0 | Urbina 6-2-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

BATTLE (-190) is a little on the expensive side but he has been rolling along and is the play over Urbina who has won just once in his last three outings.

In addition, look to BATTLE BY SUBMISSION (+340) for a chance to more than triple up. He has won four of his past five by going to the canvas and submitting his opponent, so it’s worth a roll of the dice.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing NO (-110): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is obviously the play if we’re suggesting Battle by submission. I also like BATTLE TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+600) and BATTLE TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+1100).

You’ll lose one of those plays if he wins in Rounds 2-3 but you’ll also be well ahead if he gets the stoppage in either of those two rounds.

UFC on ESPN 30: Makhmud Muradov vs. Gerald Meerschaert odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 30 odds and lines between Makhmud Muradov and Gerald Meerschaert, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a middleweight bout on the main card, Makhmud Muradov faces Gerald Meerschaert Saturday at UFC on ESPN 30 – also known as UFC Vegas 35 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 30 Muradov vs. Meerschaert odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The entire card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims beginning at 7 p.m. ET and the main card at 10 p.m. ET.

Muradov is a perfect 3-0 since his UFC debut Sept. 28, 2019, against Alessio Di Chirico, who is also on this fight card. That fight went the distance, but Muradov’s last two fights each ended in third-round KO/TKO victories, including last time out at UFC 257 against Andrew Sanchez.

Meerschaert, nicknamed “GM3”, posted a first-round submission win over Bartosz Fabinski via guillotine April 17 and snapped a two-bout losing skid. He had lost in the first round by way of KO/TKO in those two outings, and each of his past four fights ended in stoppages.

UFC on ESPN 30 Muradov vs. Meerschaert: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:05 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Muradov -700 (bet $700 to win $100) | Meerschaert +440 (bet $100 to win $440)
  • Total Rounds: 1.5 Rounds (Over -127 | Under -107)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes +180 | No -260)

UFC on ESPN 30 Muradov vs. Meerschaert: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Muradov 25-6-0 | Meerschaert 32-14-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Meerschaert got on track with a victory last time out, but he sees a huge step up in competition against Muradov. However, you can’t lay seven times your potential return on the favorite, so let’s get specific instead.

MURADOV BY KO/TKO (-200) will still cost you two times your potential return, but that’s a much better bet. Toss it into a multi-fight parlay for less risk.

Over/Under (O/U)

This fight isn’t going the distance, but you can’t roll with No (-260): Will the fight go the distance? That’s just too much risk.

Instead, take a two-round block with MURADOV TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+280) and MURADOV TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+720). Yes, you’ll lose one of those two ends even if he wins in Rounds 2-3, but you’ll still be well ahead.

UFC on ESPN 30: Edson Barboza vs. Giga Chikadze odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 30 odds and lines between Edson Barboza and Giga Chikadze with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a featherweight bout in the main event, Edson Barboza faces Giga Chikadze Saturday at UFC on ESPN 30 – also known as UFC Vegas 35 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 30 Barboza vs. Chikadze odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The prelims will be televised on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card on ESPN/ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET.

Barboza put a three-bout losing skid in the rear-view mirror after posting a unanimous-decision win over Makwan Amirkhani two fights back and a third-round KO/TKO against Shane Burgos last time out at UFC 262.

Barboza’s previous three fights had gone the distance. He is 3-5 across his last eight outings, although losses against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Paul Felder and Dan Ige are nothing to be ashamed about.

Chikadze makes the walk to the octagon looking for his seventh victory in as many tries since arriving at the UFC. He is coming off a pair of first-round KO/TKO wins over Jamey Simmons and most recently Cub Swanson in May. However, four of his six fights at the UFC level have gone the distance.

UFC on ESPN 30 Barboza vs. Chikadze: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:42 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Barboza -130 (bet $130 to win $100) | Chikadze +102 (bet $100 to win $102)
  • Total Rounds: 4.5 Rounds (Over +105 | Under -145)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes: +110 | No: -150)

UFC on ESPN 30 Barboza vs. Chikadze: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Barboza 22-9-0 | Chikadze 13-2-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

CHIKADZE (+102) is worth the play as a slight underdog in this bout which should put him on the map of even the most casual fan. A win over Barboza would be a nice feather in his cap.

However, don’t expect this win to be easy for the Georgia native who just celebrated his 33rd birthday Wednesday. I also like CHIKADZE ON POINTS (+350) for an added value.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing YES (+110): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is worth a look if you play Chikadze to win on points. OVER 4.5 ROUNDS (+105) is also worth a look if you believe there could be a late finish in the fifth round.

UFC on ESPN 29: Clay Guida vs. Mark Madsen odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 29 odds and lines between Clay Guida and Mark Madsen, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a lightweight bout on the main card, Clay Guida faces Mark Madsen Saturday at UFC on ESPN 29 – also known as UFC Vegas 34 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 29 Guida vs. Madsen odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The prelims will be televised on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card will be televised on ESPN/ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET.

Guida steps into the octagon with a slight 2.44-to-2.28 significant strikes landed per minute advantage while also leading 48.97 to 45.83 in significant strikes accuracy percentage.

Guida stopped a two-bout losing skid his last time out with a unanimous-decision win Feb. 6 over Michael Johnson. He is just 2-3 across his past five fights, with three of his last four going the distance.

Madsen is a perfect 10-0 as a professional, including 2-0 since making his UFC debut. He posted a unanimous-decision win over Austin Hubbard on March 7 at UFC 248 and had a first-round KO/TKO in his promotion debut against Danilo Belluardo Sept. 28, 2019.

UFC on ESPN 29 Guida vs. Madsen: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:15 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Guida +130 (bet $100 to win $130) | Madsen -170 (bet $170 to win $100)
  • Total Rounds: 2.5 Rounds (Over -250 | Under +190)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes -230 | No +160)

UFC on ESPN 29 Guida vs. Madsen: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Guida 36-17-0 | Madsen 10-0-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

MADSEN (-170) will get his biggest test to date but the Danish lightweight will pass with flying colors. He is a well-rounded fighter, winning four fights via decision, three fights by way of KO/TKO and three contests via submission.

Guida will put up a fight but MADSEN ON POINTS (+115) is a solid value.

Over/Under (O/U)

It’s a little on the expensive side but YES (-230): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is worth the risk. Guida is a veteran who will make Madsen work for his victory and there will be no stoppage here.

UFC on ESPN 29: Jared Cannonier vs. Kelvin Gastelum odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 29 odds and lines between Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a middleweight fight in the main event, Jared Cannonier faces Kelvin Gastelum Saturday at UFC on ESPN 29 – also known as UFC Vegas 34 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. The prelims will be televised on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card will be televised on ESPN/ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 29 Cannonier vs. Gastelum odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

Cannonier is looking to bounce back after a unanimous-decision loss at UFC 254 against Robert Whittaker last time out Oct. 24. That snapped a three-bout win streak – all via KO/TKO. Four of his past five outings have ended via stoppage.

Gastelum is also coming off a loss to Whittaker in the main event April 17. That loss came by way of unanimous decision with four of his past five fights going the distance. He is 1-4 during the span, but losses to Whittaker, Jack Hermansson, Darren Till and Israel Adesanya is nothing to be ashamed about.

UFC on ESPN 29 Cannonier vs. Gastelum: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:25 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Cannonier -145 (bet $145 to win $100) | Gastelum +115 (bet $100 to win $115)
  • Total Rounds: 4.5 Rounds (Over -115 | Under -110)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes -115 | No -120)

UFC on ESPN 29 Cannonier vs. Gastelum: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Cannonier 13-5-0 | Gastelum 17-7-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

CANNONIER (-145) is a strong play in the main event. Gastelum (+115) has been competitive in the past five outings but on the short end against higher-end competition. This should be no different, but you can expect it to go long into the night.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing YES (-115): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is a good bet. Five of Gastelum’s past six outings have ended up needing the assistance of the judges to determine a victor.

In addition, I feel Cannonier wins this one, so take CANNONIER ON POINTS (+240) for a tremendous value with the chance to more than double your initial wager.

UFC on ESPN 29: Parker Porter vs. Chase Sherman odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing UFC on ESPN 29 odds and lines between Parker Porter and Chase Sherman, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a heavyweight bout on the main card, Parker Porter faces Chase Sherman Saturday at UFC on ESPN 29 – also known as UFC Vegas 34 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 29 Porter vs. Sherman odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

The prelims will be televised on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card will be televised on ESPN/ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET.

Porter has had mixed results since joining the promotion. He dropped his debut to Chris Daukaus at UFC 252 before pushing past Josh Parisian last time out via unanimous decision Nov. 28.

Sherman, a.k.a. “The Vanilla Gorilla”, is looking to rebound after a disappointing unanimous-decision loss April 17 to veteran Andrei Arlovski his last time out. It was a rare fight going the distance for Sherman as his previous five pro bouts had ended via stoppage.

UFC on ESPN 29 Porter vs. Sherman: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:42 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Porter +150 (bet $100 to win $150) | Sherman -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Total Rounds: 1.5 Rounds (Over -170 | Under +130)
  • Will the fight go the distance: (Yes +150 | No -210)

UFC on ESPN 29 Porter vs. Sherman: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Porter (11-6-0) | Sherman (15-7-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Sherman (-200) is a little too pricey for my liking, costing you two times your potential return. Instead, look to METHOD OF VICTORY and play SHERMAN BY KO/TKO (+120) for a much better value.

Over/Under (O/U)

I believe Sherman gets the finish and as such will look to NO (-210): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?, although it’s a little on the expensive side.

However, I think the fight goes at least into the second half of Round 2 making OVER 1.5 ROUNDS (-170) worth the play as well.

Kakhramonov will be making his UFC debut. He is coming off a KO/TKO victory in the second round against Tycen Lynn at CFFC 92: Cage Fury Fighting Championships 92 March 11. Each of his past four pro bouts have ended via stoppage.

UFC on ESPN 29 Jones vs. Kakhramonov: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Jones (13-6-0) | Kakhramonov (8-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

JONES (-154) is a moderate favorite over Kakhramonov (+120), who makes his UFC debut. Jones, the fighter representing Guam, is a more polished fighter capable of winning fights battling toe-to-toe or down on the canvas.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 1.5 ROUNDS (+120) is the lean as Jones will likely look for the early finish. This one isn’t going the distance. Jones has had finishes in three of his past four bouts while Kakhramonov has stoppages in each of his past four outings.

UFC on ESPN 29: Vinc Pichel vs. Austin Hubbard odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 29 odds and lines between Vinc Pichel and Austin Hubbard, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a lightweight bout on the main card, Vinc Pichel faces Austin Hubbard Saturday at UFC on ESPN 29 – also known as UFC Vegas 34 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility. Below, we analyze the UFC on ESPN 29 Pichel vs. Hubbard odds and lines, with MMA picks and predictions.

Pichel has picked up unanimous-decision victories across his past two fights and three of the past four. Five of his seven fights at the UFC level have also needed the assistance of the judges to determine a winner.

Hubbard has alternated wins and losses in his six fights since joining the UFC level, winning by unanimous decision last time out against Dakota Bush April 17, on the Whitaker-Gastelum card.

UFC on ESPN 29 Pichel vs. Hubbard: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Pichel (13-2-0) | Hubbard (13-5-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

PICHEL (-120) is the lean here as he has just been more consistent than Hubbard (-105), who has been up and down since joining the company.

Pichel holds a slight reach advantage as well as a solid 3.83-to-0.81 takedown average. The two are fairly even in significant strikes landed per minute. This should be a fight that goes the distance with Pichel doing enough to wow the judges.

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-230): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is the lean, but it’s a little on the expensive side. However, Pichel has proven to be a long-distance fighter with few stoppages. Four of Hubbard’s six fights in the UFC have also needed the help of the judges to determine a winner.

UFC on ESPN 29 Pantoja vs. Royval: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Pantoja (23-5-0) | Royval (12-5-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

ROYVAL (+140) is a good play as a moderate underdog. He has won seven of his past nine professional bouts, and each of the past five fights have finished inside the distance. Pantoja (-180) has been spinning his wheels lately going just 2-2 across the past four outings. Royval is the much better value.

Over/Under (O/U)

The lean is to UNDER 2.5 ROUNDS (+120) at plus-money as Royval has five consecutive finishes. While Pantoja has gone the distance in three of the past four outings, you can expect the Brazilian flyweight to be pushed early and often by Royval. NO (-110): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is also a strong play.
