Nick Castellanos shared a humorous moment with his son Liam after hitting a Phillies homer in spring training

For the Castellanos, baseball is a family affair.

Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos has never struggled to knock out homers, and he notched his latest swing for the fences in spring training on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.

However, to Castellanos’ son Liam, Saturday’s game was another opportunity to get to spend some time with his dad.

The younger Castellanos helped out the Phillies as their bat boy during the game, and the elder Castellanos playfully motioned for his son to come get the bat after he hit the home run.

It was an adorable moment between the two Castellanos, as a dad humorously reminded his son to not forget his job for the day.

The young Castellanos became a fixture during the Phillies’ playoff run last season as he cheered on his dad in the stands, and it looks like the Castellanos haven’t skipped a beat in keeping baseball a very fun family affair. We’re sure Liam can be the spring training bat boy any time.

Pirates No. 1 overall pick Paul Skenes broke his catcher’s glove with a fastball at spring training

Paul Skenes may be on the fast track to the majors, and he showed why at spring training.

MLB spring training is upon us, and we’ll be able to get our first extended look at Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Paul Skenes, the top pick in the 2023 draft and currently the No. 3 prospect in baseball.

Skenes is getting the opportunity to pitch with the big-league club after he was given a non-roster invite to spring training. It didn’t take him long to show off his ferocious fastball, which routinely hit triple digits even late into starts during his elite 2023 season at LSU.

Just how powerful is Skenes’ fastball? It managed to punch clean through the glove of his throwing partner.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself

Skenes, who won the Dick Howser Trophy as the national college player of the year last spring, has only seen limited professional action to this point in his career.

He pitched one inning in the rookie leagues and three at the Single-A level before he earned a call-up to Double-A. He appeared in two games, pitching 2.2 innings before the Pirates organization shut him down for the season.

Skenes could find himself pitching in the majors by the end of the 2024 season, and he’s looking to make a strong impression on the Pirates in spring training.

It seems he may have already done that.

Giants players cuddling with puppies was the best break from the grind of spring training

PUPPIES ALERT!!!

The San Francisco Giants found the most paw-some way to ring in spring training. As the Giants reported for their preseason routines, the team got a chance to get some pristine cuddling time with a bunch of puppies because why the heck not?

The rigors of baseball season can certainly take their toll on any athlete, and one of the best ways to combat those is by getting in a snuggling session with a bunch of adorable doggos.

Is there anything more in this montage clip than San Francisco Giants players hanging out with puppies? No, there’s not. Do you really need more than that? Absolutely not.

I mean, come on. That’s bound to be one of the most adorable things to come out of the MLB season, and it hasn’t even technically started yet.

If the Giants win the World Series in the fall, they have to have all of these puppies out on the baseball diamond to celebrate with them. Sorry, those are just the rules.
