Mississippi State at Arizona State picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona State 34, Mississippi State 27

Moneyline

Both teams won my similar margins, but their competition was not the same. The Bulldogs beat an FCS team in the Big Sky. The Sun Devils blew out a Mountain West team that won 9 games last year.

Leavitt looked good in his college football debut, and the Devils rushed for 241 yards as a team and scored 2 defensive TDs.

I like the Devils to pick up their 2nd win of the year but at -210 odds, it isn’t worth the action.

PASS.

Against the spread

Both teams covered the spread in their wins last week.

Both teams’ offensive production was similar, both rushing for over 200 yards. But ASU had the takeaways against a better program, so based on one game, Arizona State gets the edge.

BET ARIZONA STATE -5.5 (-112).

Over/Under

This should be a close game one way or the other.

Since both teams scored 48 or more last week, let’s go with them putting up points again.

BET OVER 58.5 (-110).
