Analyzing Sunday’s Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Minnesota Twins (23-16) and Toronto Blue Jays (18-21) conclude a 3-game series Sunday. First pitch from Rogers Centre is slated for 1:37 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Blue Jays odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1; Twins won 3-2 Friday, Blue Jays won 10-8 Saturday

The Twins blew an early 6-run lead and had their 7-game road winning streak snapped. They got a 3-run HR from 1B Carlos Santana and a solo shot from C Ryan Jeffers. Minnesota has homered at least once in 19 consecutive games at Rogers Centre. Twins starter RHP Simeon Woods Richardson was beat up for 5 ER over 4 1/3 IP.

Toronto’s offense bailed out starter RHP Kevin Gausman who allowed 7 runs (6 ER) on 10 hits. The Blue Jays scored 7 unanswered runs to beat Minnesota 10-8 to even the series. 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had 3 RBI and his 11th multi-hit game of the season. Toronto also got long balls from C Danny Jansen, SS Bo Bichette and LF Davis Schneider.

Twins at Blue Jays projected starters

RHP Bailey Ober vs. RHP Alek Manoah

Ober (3-1, 4.42 ERA) makes his 8th start. He has a 1.01 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 8.6 K/9 in 36 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 10-6 home loss against the Seattle Mariners Tuesday
  • Last start vs. Blue Jays: Loss, 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 3-0 home defeat on May 28, 2023

Manoah (0-0, 13.50 ERA) makes his 2nd start. He has a 2.50 WHIP, 9.0 BB/9 and 13.5 K/9 in 4 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 IP, 7 R (6 ER), 6 H, 4 BB, 6 K in 11-8 loss at Washington Nationals last Sunday
  • Career vs Twins: 2-0, 3.09 ERA (11 2/3 IP, 4 ER) in 2 starts

Twins at Blue Jays picks and predictions

Prediction

Twins 8, Blue Jays 4

Moneyline.

PASS.

I like the Twins (-142) to take this series on Sunday afternoon in Toronto, but I’m not going to bet nearly 1½ units to win 1. I’ll take the plus odds on the run line.

Run line/Against the spread

BET TWINS -1.5 (+115).

Minnesota should have tied a team record for consecutive road wins on Saturday if it weren’t for their bullpen blowing the game. They will bounce back on Sunday with Ober on the mound. The Twins have won 16 of their last 20 games and are 12-8 on the road this season.

Since the calendar turned to May, the Twins are 7-3 and have a batting average 20 points higher than in April.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays have lost 12 of their last 20 games and 5 of their last 6 losses have been by 2 or more runs. .

Over/Under

BET OVER 8 (-105).

It’s hard to ignore the trends with this game. The Twins have been Over in 4 of their last 5 games and the Blue Jays Over in 5 of the last 7 games.

Pitching has been a struggle for both of these teams, Minnesota has a 4.20 team ERA on the road while the Blue Jays have a 4.34 at home. Expect some fireworks like we saw on Saturday.

Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Minnesota Twins (22-15) and Toronto Blue Jays (17-20) open a 3-game series Friday. First pitch from Rogers Centre is set for 7:07 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Blue Jays odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; split last season 3-3

Minnesota routed the Seattle Mariners 11-1 Friday while cashing as a -110 home favorite. The Twins jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the 1st inning, from there they never allowed the game to even get close. RHP Pablo Lopez picked up the win as he allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits and 1 walk with 10 K’s in 6 1/3 innings.

Toronto beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 Wednesday while cashing as a +144 road underdog. RHP Chris Bassitt picked up the win, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits and 2 walks with 6 K’s in 6 1/3 innings. The Blue Jays had 12 hits and 14 total bases to Philly’s 7 hits and 10 total bases in the win.

Twins at Blue Jays projected starters

RHP Joe Ryan vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Ryan (1-2, 3.54 ERA) makes his 8th start. He has a 1.01 WHIP, 1.3 BB/9 and 10.2 K/9 in 40 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 6 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 9-2 home loss vs. Boston Red Sox Sunday
  • Career vs. Toronto: 0-0, 4.50 ERA (6 IP, 3 ER), 6 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 1 start, a 9-4 road win June 10, 2023

Kikuchi (2-2, 2.72 ERA) makes his 8th start. He has a 1.16 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 9.8 K/9 in 39 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 9-3 loss at Washington Nationals Friday
  • Career vs. Minnesota: 1-1, 3.38 ERA (26 2/3 IP, 10 ER), 27 H, 7 BB, 26 K across 5 starts — no-decision in 1 start vs. Twins in 2023 (5 IP, 2 ER)

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Twins -1.5 (+152) | Blue Jays +1.5 (-184)

Twins at Blue Jays picks and predictions

Prediction

Twins 5, Blue Jays 4

Moneyline

BET TWINS (-104).

Minnesota has won back-to-back games and is 3-1 in its last 4 and 8-2 in its last 10 outings. The Twins have also won back-to-back games vs. Toronto and are 4-1 in the last 5 matchups. Minnesota is 2-1 in its last 3 matchups vs. the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I fully expect the Blue Jays to cover here as +1.5 (-184) underdogs, especially given that recent matchups between these squads have been very competitive with the Twins only leading 6-4 in the last 10. However, the line is far too risky to bet on, so bet on the moneyline and/or total instead.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 7.5 (-115).

The Over has hit in 3 consecutive games for Minnesota and is 4-1 in its last 5. For Toronto, the Over is 4-1 in its last 5 games. The Over has also been slightly safer for the Twins this season at 19-17-1 on the year.

This is only a lean because the Under has hit in back-to-back Minnesota-Toronto matchups and is 4-2 in the last 6.

Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Minnesota Twins (31-32) and Toronto Blue Jays (36-28) open a 3-game set Friday at Rogers Centre. First pitch is at 7:07 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Blue Jays odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Blue Jays lead 2-1

Minnesota has lost 5 in a row after being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. The Twins were outscored 13-3 in the series and have scored just 7 runs in the last 6 games. They’re still clinging to a 1 1/2-game lead in the AL Central in a rough part of their schedule. This is the 6th consecutive series against a team in reach of a playoff spot, and they have 2 with Milwaukee after this set before hitting a soft spot in the schedule.

Toronto is on a roll with 7 victories in the last 8 games and sit a half-game out of a Wild-Card spot in the loaded American League. They’re winning close games, too, as closer Jordan Romano has 7 saves since May 26. Toronto is 10-3 vs. the AL Central and 18-11 at home this year.

Twins at Blue Jays projected starters

RHP Sonny Gray vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Gray (4-1, 2.15 ERA) makes his 13th start of 2023. He has a 1.22 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 9.5 K/9 in 67 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 6 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 10 H, 0 BB, 2 K vs. Cleveland Guardians Saturday
  • Last 5 starts vs. Toronto: 0-1, 4.43 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 25 K in 22 1/3 IP

Kikuchi (6-2, 4.40 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.37 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 in 61 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 8 K vs. New York Mets Sunday
  • Has made 4 career starts vs. Twins: 1-1, 3.32 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 22 K in 21 2/3 IP

Twins at Blue Jays picks and predictions

Prediction

Blue Jays 4, Twins 2

Moneyline

Gray allowed his 1st HR of the season in his last start. He has allowed at least 2 ER in 4 straight starts and isn’t quite as lethal on the road with a 2.88 ERA as opposed to 1.71 at home. The Jays do more than just mash home runs as they’re 11th at 1.20 per game and 4th in BA at .263. Gray keeps the Twins in it, but Toronto is just a bit better offensively.

Take the BLUE JAYS -125.

Run line/Against the spread

I’m not feeling either side of the RL today. Both teams have quality bullpens with Minnesota 6th with a 3.44 ERA, and Toronto is 8th at 3.63. Romano might be iffy Friday as he pitched the last 2 days, but you could make a case he’s available after throwing just 7 pitches Thursday.

There is a prop I like, though. Gray has gone at least 6 innings in 2 straight starts. He just has to limit the walks, and he has just 5 K’s in those outings. I’ll take SONNY GRAY OVER 16.5 OUTS (+105), meaning he’ll need to pitch 5 2/3 innings for a plus-money return.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Twins have had trouble scoring, cashing 6 straight Unders. Toronto has cashed 3 straight Unders and 7 of 9. Two good starters and 2 good bullpens in a dome, I’ll side with the UNDER 8.5 (+100).

Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Minnesota Twins (30-23) head to the Rogers Centre Friday to start a 3-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays (30-20) at 7:07 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Twins vs. Blue Jays odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Minnesota just lost 4 of a 5-game series on the road vs. the Detroit Tigers and the Twins are just 3-7 straight up (SU) in their last 10 games.

Toronto is on an 8-game winning streak, which includes a 4-game sweep of the Angels in Los Angeles last week and a 3-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox earlier this week.

The Blue Jays beat the Twins 4-3 in last year’s season series, but Minnesota had a plus-3 run differential in those meetings.

Twins at Blue Jays projected starters

RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Gonzalez is making his 2022 and Minnesota team debut Friday after pitching for the Colorado Rockies from 2019-21.

  • Was 3-7 in 2021 with a 6.46 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9 and 5.0 K/9 in 101 2/3 IP across 18 starts and 8 relief appearances.

Kikuchi is 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 5.2 BB/9 and 9.6 K/9 in 41 1/3 IP over 9 starts.

  • Last start: No-decision in Toronto’s 6-5 win at the Angels Saturday with 5 IP, 2 ER, 9 H, 1 BB and 4 K.
  • 2021 vs. the Twins: One start while pitching for the Seattle Mariners, a no-decision in Seattle’s 4-3 win in Minnesota April 10  with 6 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 HR, 2 BB and 6 K.

Twins at Blue Jays odds and lines

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Twins +1.5 (-112) | Blue Jays -1.5 (-108)

Twins at Blue Jays picks and predictions

Prediction

Blue Jays 8, Twins 4

Money line

PASS.

The Blue Jays (-220) are just too pricey since the Twins (+175) are 5-3 SU as road underdogs so I’ll default to Toronto’s cheaper RL instead.

Win your fantasy baseball league with BaseballHQ.com. For decades, BHQ has been helping players just like you win! Use the couple code SBW22 for 20% OFF full-season subscription. New customer offer; expires 6/30/2022. Subscribe today and start winning!

Run line/Against the spread

BET a half-unit on the BLUE JAYS -1.5 (-108) because they are just 8-15 RL as home favorites while the Twins +1.5 (-112) are 5-3 RL as road underdogs. Also, 4 of Toronto’s 8 consecutive wins have been 1-run games.

However, Gonzalez was one of the least effective starters in the NL while pitching for the Rockies and Toronto’s lineup is red-hot at the moment.

Over the last two weeks, the Blue Jays are 1st in both BB/K rate (0.55) and barrel rate (12.1%) and 2nd in wRC+ (137), wOBA (.362), hard-hit rate (44.9%) and exit velocity (90.1 mph), according to FanGraphs.

The value of MLB RLs is fringe at the moment but I’ll BET the BLUE JAYS -1.5 (-108) for a half-unit.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 9.5 (-108) since both lineups have sluggers, Gonzalez has a career 5.64 ERA, Kikuchi is a bottom-of-the-rotation starter, Minnesota is 5-3 O/U as road underdogs and Toronto is 5-0 O/U in their last 5 games.

But, the Over almost feels too easy here and the Under has cashed in 6 consecutive Twins-Blue Jays meetings.
