Browns waive WR Michael Harley Jr. as cutdowns continue

Harley Jr. could be a practice squad candidate

For the second straight season, the Clevland Browns have waived wide receiver Mike Harley Jr., who spent last season on the practice squad. It was a numbers game for the Browns as they have a ton of talent in the wide receiver room. It wouldn’t be surprising if the team tried to bring Harley Jr. back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Harley Jr. left the University of Miami, Florida as the all-time leading receiver for a school that has seen a ton of talent come through there. Harley Jr. has great speed that can help teams stretch the field vertically but the Browns just have nowhere to put him on the current roster. He does remain a great prospect to continue to develop if Harley Jr. is okay with another season on Cleveland’s practice squad.

Stay tuned here to BrownsWire as more Browns news continues to come through as the team looks to get to 53 players.

WATCH: Kellen Mond connects with Mike Harley Jr. for 6 vs. Commanders

Mond and Harley Jr. are doing his best to put tape out there for all 32 teams to see

The Cleveland Browns scratched and clawed their way back into the game against the Washington Commanders as quarterback Kellen Mond threw a touchdown pass to Mike Harley Jr. to pull them within two. However, the Browns failed to convert the two-point conversion in order to tie the game up.

Regardless, the second and third stringers, led by another spark from Dorian Thompson-Robinson, showed the fight to make this a game after going down 14-2 early on. Mond is unlikely to make the roster, but he is doing his best to audition for 31 other teams around the league.
