It’s father-son bonding time for Mike Evans

Bucs WR Mike Evans took to Instagram to show off his baby son.

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans hit up the team’s training facility last week as training camp got underway, but not before throwing some shade at Chargers receiver Keenan Allen.

Evans is the lead man on a Bucs offense that ranked third in the league last season. And now that he has Tom Brady throwing to him, Evans could make history in 2020 if he can get his seventh-straight 1,000-yard season.

Before the hectic grind of the season begins, though, Evans is enjoying his time at home being a dad to his kids, including baby boy Amari Thomas Evans.

Check out Evans’ recent Instagram story where he caught little Amari flashing a smile at the camera.

Mike Evans honors another sports legend in latest Instagram post

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans took to Instagram to throw it back to another sports legend.

This season, Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans will finally get to show the rest of the league just how great he is.

The Buccaneers’ all-time leading receiver will be chasing history in 2020 with Tom Brady under center, and Tampa Bay will be featured in five prime-time games, the most allowed.

While Evans is a legend in his own right, he took some time today to throw it back to another sports icon, former Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade.

Take a look.

Evans often wears Wade’s jersey, so clearly has mad respect for the future NBA Hall of Famer.

Mike Evans is definitely training like a man on a mission

Bucs WR Mike Evans took to Instagram again to show fans the time and effort he’s putting in ahead of training camp.

History is on the line in 2020 for Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans, who became the franchise’s all-time leader in receiving yards back in 2018 in just his fifth season.

Last year, Evans tied Randy Moss for the most 1,000-yard seasons to begin a career at six. With Tom Brady under center in 2020, Evans could very well take the record for himself now that he has a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing to him.

But more than that, the 2020 season will offer Evans the chance to showcase his talents on the national stage, as the Bucs have been scheduled for the maximum five prime-time games. As talented as Evans is, he’s rarely talked about as the game’s top receiver, likely due to the lack of team success the Bucs have had during his career.

Hopefully, that’ll all change this season, which might explain why Evans is training like a man on a mission. Take a look at some more screenshots from his recent training session.

This Mike Evans workout video certainly made Tom Brady happy

The Buccaneers posted a video on Instagram of WR Mike Evans working out, which made quarterback Tom Brady very happy.

Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is looking for his seventh-straight 1,000-yard season in 2020, which would make him the only player ever to begin his career with such a streak.

Things will be made easier this year with Tom Brady under center for the Bucs. While the pair have been hitting the field together at a local Tampa prep school, they’ll look to get in even more work together once training camp begins in a few weeks (we hope).

In the meantime, though, Evans has been working out on his own to get himself ready for the season. The Buccaneers recently posted a video on Instagram of Evans working out, and Tampa Bay’s new quarterback left a comment giving his stamp of approval.

Glad to see Brady appreciating the work Evans is putting in. While Evans will have a shot at history this season, it’ll be Brady who will bear the responsibility of getting him the ball.

No pressure.

It was an early morning for Bucs WR Mike Evans

Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans received a pleasant wake-up call this morning from his children.

Mike Evans may be the man on the field, but off of it, he’s just a dad at the mercy of his children.

Evans, who this past season became just the second receiver ever to begin his career with six-straight 1,000 yard seasons, seems to have gotten a pleasant wake-up call this morning from his son and daughter. An early wake-up call.

Mike Evans shows off his first varsity catch on Instagram

Mike Evans may already be the greatest receiver in Bucs history, but years ago, he was just another guy trying to make it on varsity.

Mike Evans made history last season, becoming just the second wide receiver ever, after Hall of Famer Randy Moss, to begin his career with six-straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

At just 26, Evans is already the Buccaneers’ all-time leader in receptions (462), receiving yards (7,260) and touchdowns (48). Now that Tom Brady is his quarterback, the sky’s the limit for Evans, who is just entering his prime — a scary thought for the rest of the league.

While Evans has a bright future still ahead of him, the Pro Bowl receiver took to his Instagram story yesterday to post a video of his first-ever catch on the varsity team in high school, showing just how far he’s come.

Take a look at a screenshot from his post below.

Mike Evans calls Kyler Murray the best high school player ever

See why Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans called Cardinals QB Kyler Murray the best high school football player ever on Twitter.

The Arizona Cardinals turned some heads last year when they drafted Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. While the former Oklahoma quarterback was the reigning Heisman Trophy winner at the time, the Cards had used the No. 10 pick in the 2018 draft to take quarterback Josh Rosen out of UCLA.

But Rosen’s rocky rookie season, coupled with the hiring of head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who tried to recruit Murray in college, likely made Arizona’s decision a little easier. Let’s not forget, too, that Murray wasn’t just a star athlete at Oklahoma. He was also a legend in high school. Check out these stats below.

And, it seems Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans thinks Murray’s stats are legit.

Take a look at this tweet from the Pro Bowl receiver.

High praise from Evans.
