Nashville Predators stun Flames with game-tying goal in final 0.1 seconds

See the wild finish to Thursday’s Flames-Predators game.

The Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames delivered a wild finish at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night, and as Calgary was just two tenths of a second away from victory before Nashville’s Mikael Granlund tied the game with a buzzer-beater just before the game ended, just a few seconds after the Flames had seemingly scored the game-winner in the final minute.

With the game tied at 2-2 in the third period, Calgary’s Mikael Backlund set up a beautiful go-ahead goal, skating through three Predators defenders before dishing to Andrew Mangiapane.

Nashville responded by pulling the goaltender to get an extra attacker – and finally broke through just as the horn sounded. Granlund put in a shot off the goaltender as time expired, but replays confirmed that the puck crossed the line with 0.1 remaining on the clock.

In overtime, Granlund gave Nashville a 4-3 win with his second goal of the game.
