MSU has released their uniform combination for Saturday’s clash with No. 8 Washington:
Michigan State is heading into a major nonconference clash this Saturday against the No. 8 ranked Huskies of Washington. Upon the reveal of new uniform combinations the Spartans would wear in 2023, fans learned of a new black “shadows” uniform. Many fans thought, and wanted, the Spartans were going to wear the all black uniforms for this major home matchup with Washington, but that is not the case.
Instead, the Spartans will be donning a white helmet, green jersey and green pants. You can watch the full jersey reveal via X:

Michigan State football debuts new all-black ‘shadow’ alternate uniform
If there is one thing I have seen Michigan State football fans ask for, for what seems years, is an all-black uniform. Those wishes were granted on Friday at the Spartan Dawg Con this weekend, when the program revealed the new uniform.
As part of the new uniform reveal, the Spartans also updated their green and white uniforms, adding the Greek Key design that was made popular by MSU basketball’s championship team in 2000.

WATCH: Michigan State football unveils uniforms for Michigan rivalry game
During Mel Tucker’s time at Michigan State football, the program has had a lot of fun with uniforms, with a new hype video debuting a new uniform combination seemingly every week. That is especially true this week, as the Spartans unveiled the uniforms they will be wearing for this weekend’s Michigan game, and they are phenomenal.
It’s May during a pandemic. Let’s rank some uniforms!
Recently Rivals took a shot at ranking the best football uniforms in the Big Ten and frankly, they did a bad job. The list is all over the place. Parts of it seem to be put together by human embodiments of an Encyclopedia Britannica circa 1937 and some of it by millennials. They also take some alternate uniforms into account while ignoring others. It’s a mess.
Today I’m going to fix their errors and come up with a uniform ranking that surely not a single person on this beautiful planet of ours will disagree with. NOT ONE. That may seem like an impossible mission, and if so, consider me Tom Cruise. I’ll get it done with Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames at my side.
I’ll be ranking based on standard uniforms used for home and away games during the 2019 season. No crazy alternates. No fuss. If it’s not part of the regular rotation, it’s outta here. With that said, let’s start by making fun of Maryland.
14. Maryland
Maryland has been taking huge Ls in the uniform game since they revamped their look a handful of years ago. Outside of the Terps, the Big Ten is a really solid conference when it comes to uniforms. The helmets are always doing too much and while I respect them for trying to incorporate such a unique state flag into their look, it just rarely ever works. The black on black on black look is their best and it’s still held down by the lid. The rest is just blahhhhhhhhhwful.
