The Spartans went on a 19-0 run midway through the second half to build a wide margin they’d never surrender in the 73-55 win over the Scarlet Knights. Michigan State was led offensively by Malik Hall (15 points) and Tyson Walker (13 points).

Michigan State basketball loses again — here are some of the best photos from the Spartans loss against Rutgers

Michigan State basketball let another second half lead slip away on Saturday in yet another disappointing loss.

Rutgers overcame an eight-point deficit in the second half to beat Michigan State, 61-55, on Saturday from Madison Square Garden. The Spartans led throughout most of the game but were dominated in the final six minutes to give up a great opportunity to boost their NCAA Tournament resume.

With the loss, Michigan State has dropped five of their last seven games and haven’t won consecutive games since their seven-game winning streak was snapped in early January. Throughout this stretch, the Spartans’ NCAA Tournament stock has declined as well.
