Michigan State basketball got a win they simply had to have on Thursday night.
The Spartans fell behind early but responded in a big way to get a 70-57 victory over Rutgers at the Breslin Center on Thursday. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Spartans and moved them to 13-6 overall and 5-3 in Big Ten play.
Michigan State picked up the victory due to stifling second half defense and strong offensive performances from A.J. Hoggard (16 points), Joey Hauser (13 points), Tyson Walker (12 points) and Jaxon Kohler (12 points).
