MSU adds 2008 commitment from Russian winger

Michigan State hockey has added a big time commitment from the 2008 born age group on Monday.

Nikita Klepov has made the move to commit to the Spartans, it was announced on X.

Klepov is originally from Russia, before coming over to the United States during his high school years. He now plays in the USHL for the Sioux City Musketeers. It is expected he will join the MSU program in 2026-27.

Michigan State jumps into top five of recruiting rankings after 5-star commitment:

Michigan State picked up the huge commitment of 5-star, 2008-born prospect Jack Hextall, and now they are reaping the rewards in the recruiting rankings.

According to Puck Preps, the leader in college hockey recruiting, the Spartans have jumped all the way into fourth place, trailing rival Michigan, Boston College and Boston University.

Michigan State hockey added to its future roster on Tuesday.

The Spartans picked up a big-time commitment on Tuesday afternoon, with defenseman Cullen McCrate of Adrian, Mich. McCrate is an 07-born prospect who played AAA for Little Caesars.

McCrate will play for Dubuque in the USHL next season. He was previously committed to UMass-Lowell before reopening his recruitment a few weeks ago.
