Michigan State will be hosting one of the top linebackers from Ohio for an official visit this upcoming weekend.

Grant Beerman of West Chester, Ohio will be taking an official visit to Michigan State on June 14. He confirmed the upcoming visit via his X account earlier this week.

Beerman is a three-star prospect in the 2025 class. He ranks as the No. 45 linebacker and No. 406 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class.

Beerman holds offers from nearly 30 programs, according to 247Sports. The top contenders for his commitment appear to be Michigan State, Cincinnati and Purdue.

Michigan State football will be hosting an SEC commit for an official visit next week.

Three-star cornerback Vanzale Hinton of Ooltewah, Tenn. will reportedly take an official visit to Michigan State on June 21. Corey Robinson of 247Sports’ reported the notable recruiting news on Wednesday.

Hinton is currently committed to Vanderbilt. He committed to the Commodores in April.

Hinton ranks as the No. 45 cornerback in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 6 player from Tennessee in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 10 programs to extend an offer to Hinton, according to 247Sports. He has either taken or has scheduled official visits for Memphis, Vanderbilt and now Michigan State.

Michigan State football is looking to steal a MAC commit.

Three-star safety Jerome Smith of Indianapolis announced earlier this week that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Smith is currently committed to Miami (OH).

Smith ranks as the No. 91 safety and No. 17 player from Indiana in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class.

Michigan State is one of seven schools to offer Smith, according to 247Sports. The Spartans are the only power four school to offer Smith, with his other offers coming from Miami (OH), Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Marshall and Northern Illinois.

Four-star offensive tackle Gregory Patrick reportedly visited Michigan State on Thursday. Corey Robinson of 247Sports’ reported the news on Patrick’s unofficial visit to East Lansing, Mich.

Patrick hails from Portage, Mich. and plays for Portage Northern High.

Patrick ranks as the No. 13 offensive tackle in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also ranked as the No. 2 player from Michigan and No. 155 overall prospect in the class.

Patrick already holds an offer from Michigan State, according to 247Sports. He has received more than 20 offers, with some of the more notable programs to extend him a scholarship being Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Darden ranks as the No. 43 edge rusher in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 16 player from North Carolina in the class.

Schwerzel is ranked as the No. 24 edge rusher in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 2 player from Washington and No. 283 overall prospect in the class.

Ra’Shaud Holland of Pickerington, Ohio announced on Monday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Holland was at a camp at Michigan State earlier in the day.

Holland is currently unranked in the 2026 class, but has picked up interest from numerous programs. He holds offers from 10 schools, according to 247Sports. Other schools to offer Holland includes Cincinnati, Marshall, Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Toledo.

Michigan State has joined a handful of west coast schools in offering 2026 offensive lineman prospect Kingston Kerkhoff.

Kerkhoff announced the offer from the Spartans on X on Monday. He hails from Tacoma, Wash. and is listed as an unranked prospect in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class.

According to 247Sports, Kerkhoff has received five offers at this time: Michigan State, Arizona State, California, Oregon State and Nevada.

Clayton ranks as the No. 29 quarterback in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 351 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 20 programs to offer Clayton, according to 247Sports. Other power four programs to offer Clayton includes Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (FL), NC State, Ole Miss, Pitt, Purdue, Syracuse, UCF and Virginia Tech.

Michigan State football has added another commit to its 2025 class.

Three-star offensive lineman Drew Nichols of Murrieta, Calif. announced his commitment to Michigan State on Monday. Nichols took an official visit to Michigan State this past weekend.

Nichols ranks as the No. 84 interior offensive lineman in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 1,220 overall prospect in the class.

The Spartans beat numerous west coast teams for Nichols commitment. He was also strongly considering Boise State and UCLA, with official visits scheduled for the next few weeks.
