Michigan State basketball has locked up a spot in the NCAA Tournament in the eyes of T3 Bracketology.

The Spartans picked up a massive upset win over Purdue on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak. The win improved the Spartans’ record to 19-9 on the season, which should be good enough to secure an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, according to T3 Bracketology.

Michigan State was one of five teams that T3 Bracketology considered to lock up bids for the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. This essentially means even if the Spartans were to lose out they should still have a resume strong enough to get a tournament bid.

Michigan State has three more games left on their regular-season schedule. The Spartans have a pair of road games against Michigan (Tuesday) and Ohio State (Thursday) before ending the season with a home matchup against Maryland (Sunday).

Michigan State’s disappointing loss at Penn State earlier this week apparently didn’t hurt them in the eyes of ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi released an updated version of Bracketology on Friday, and the Spartans remained in the same spot as they did before that loss to the Nittany Lions. Michigan State is still a No. 5 seed in Lunardi’s bracket projection and still slated to play No. 12 seed Davidson in the first round.

Michigan State is safely in the NCAA Tournament, but it has seen its seed stock drop in recent weeks, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi released on Tuesday an updated bracketology, which has the Spartans as a No. 5 seed. He projects Michigan State to open against No. 12 Davidson in the Midwest Region.

The Spartans have been slowly dropping in the recent weeks; Lunardi had Michigan State as a No. 3 seed for multiple weeks. At least, Michigan State looks to be a near lock to be dancing this season, which wasn’t the case this time last year.

Losing at home Northwestern definitely will hurt your NCAA Tournament stock so it’s no surprise to see the Spartans drop in the latest batch of Bracketology from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi released an updated bracket projection on Tuesday, which has the Spartans as a No. 4 seed in the East region. Michigan State is slated to play No. 13 seed Ohio in the projected first-round matchup.

Michigan State was as high as a No. 2 seed just a few weeks ago, but lackluster play over the past few games has resulted in the Spartans sliding.

Michigan State continues to win on the hardwood and that has helped bolster their NCAA Tournament stock in ESPN’s NCAA Tournament projections.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN has moved the Spartans up to a No. 2 seed in his most recent Bracketology update this week. Michigan State was most recently listed as a No. 3 seed.

Michigan State would play No. 15 seed Wagner in the first round of this projected tournament bracket. Check out the complete Bracketology post from Lunardi by clicking on the link below:

Michigan State has moved up in the latest batch of ESPN’s Bracketology by Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi released a new bracket projection for the 2022 NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, and the Spartans saw a slight bump. Michigan State moved up from a No. 7 seed in Lunardi’s last projection to a No. 6 seed in this one.

The Spartans are slated to play No. 11 seed Belmont in the East Region. Should Michigan State win in this projected bracket, they’d most likely face No. 3 seed Duke.

I’m not sure why exactly Michigan State moved up as the Spartans’ roster has not changed since that last bracketology update. But moving up from a No. 7 seed to a No. 6 seed is big and seems like a fitting spot for Michigan State entering the 2021-22 season.

Michigan State continues to slide down the seed lines in ESPN’s offseason versions of Bracketology.

Joe Lunardi has put out numerous Bracketology updates this offseason, and it seems like Michigan State has dropped each time. That again was the case in Lunardi’s latest update that came out this week.

Lunardi has the Spartans as a No. 7 seed taking on No. 10 seed San Diego State in a first round match-up of the Midwest Region. Michigan State had previously been a No. 5 seed in Lunardi’s update about a month ago.
