Gators hosting Peach State DL on official visit after landing in top 8

Florida is one of many Power Five programs looking to secure a commitment from Creekside defensive lineman Michai Boireau and an official visit to the Swamp should help.

Although he hasn’t received a recruiting grade from 247Sports or ESPN, Creekside (Fairburn, Georgia) defensive lineman [autotag]Michai Boireau[/autotag] is one of the top players on Florida’s board.

Boireau recently named Florida as one of his top-8 schools along with Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M. He’s looking to take official visits over the summer and has dates locked in with the Florida coaching staff already, according to 247Sports.

The Gators will host Boireau on an official visit over the weekend of June 9, which should give him a much better idea of what the program is all about. Boireau was recently in town for Florida’s spring game, but there isn’t a whole lot of time for one-on-one recruiting during events like that.

“I am looking forward to seeing more of their campus because I haven’t seen all of it,” Boireau said. “Just really talking to the coaches more than watching them practice and coach. I want to talk to them and get to know them even more as a whole.”

Boireau is a three-star recruit by On3 and Rivals.com’s measure. The On3 industry ranking places him at No. 1,018 overall and No. 98 among defensive linemen in the class of 2024.

Both of those numbers could increase over the next few months. His offer list is deep and this could be one of those diamond-in-the-rough types that takes a while to explode onto the national recruiting scene.

3-star Peach State defensive lineman includes Florida in top 8

This Peach State product could be an underrated score in the 2024 recruiting class.

Florida football made the cut for three-star defensive lineman [autotag]Michai Boireau[/autotag] out of Hampton (Georgia) Creekside, who announced his list of top eight schools on his personal Twitter account Wednesday.

Also included on the list are the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 350-pound defender fills a position of need for Billy Napier’s program on the interior defensive line, and despite his lower ranking, could be a diamond in the rough for the Orange and Blue.

Boireau is ranked No. 1,011 overall and No. 96 at his position nationally according to the On3 industry ranking while 247Sports does not have any data for him. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Michigan in the lead with a 39.0% chance of signing him, followed by the South Carolina Gamecocks (23.1%), Georgia (10.4%) and Ole Miss (8.6%) in his recruitment.
