First look: Miami at Florida odds and lines

Looking at Saturday’s Miami at Florida college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Miami Hurricanes and the Florida Gators open their seasons at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Below, we look at Miami vs. Florida odds from BetMGM Sportsbook before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

Miami had a great transfer portal season, and look extremely talented on paper. Coach Mario Cristobal lured QB Cam Ward (Washington State) from the broken-up Pac-12, and he might be one of the more exciting signal callers in the ACC, if not the entire nation. They also added talented RB Damien Martinez (Oregon State), giving them a solid core of skill position players to go along with holdover WR Xavier Restrepo.

However, it isn’t all like The U in the 80’s, as the defense was a mess last season, and the team must replace 4 defensive backs from 2023. This team might be a little heavy up front, and susceptible to the pass downfield.

Florida was a disaster last season, and coach Billy Napier is starting to make Dan Mullen and Ron Zook look pretty good right about now. He is just 11-14 in 2 seasons in The Swamp, including just 5 wins a season ago. QB Graham Mertz was actually pretty solid, and Florida has talent on offense with RB Montrell Johnson and WR Eugene Wilson III.

Like Miami, though, Florida had plenty of issues on defense in 2023, and it had tremendous difficulty stopping the run. In fact, SEC teams averaged more than 200 yards per game on the ground against the Gators. Florida tried to address those issues via the transfer portal, but the jury is obviously still out.

Miami is No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll — conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.

Final Four first look: Miami vs. UConn odds, lines and trends

Looking at Saturday’s Miami vs. UConn Final Four odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The 5th-seeded Miami Hurricanes (29-7) and 4th-seeded UConn Huskies (29-8) meet Saturday in a Final Four game at NRG Stadium in Houston. Tip is scheduled for approximately 8:49 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Miami vs. UConn odds from Tipico Sportsbook. Plus, check out our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Things were looking grim for the Hurricanes in Sunday’s 88-81 Elite 8 win over Texas at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. Miami found itself down 13 points with just under 13 minutes remaining before going on a 37-17 run to close out the game and clinch the Hurricanes’ 1st Final Four appearance.

Miami has covered all 4 of its tournament games, including wins over the No. 1 seed Houston Cougars and the 2nd-seeded Longhorns, denying both schools a chance to play in their home state at NRG Stadium.

The Over has cashed in 3 straight games for the Hurricanes, with Miami posting 85 or more points in each game. The 3-0 Over run ties a season high, and the streak of 85-plus points in 3 straight is also a season best.

UConn has recorded wins over Iona, Saint Mary’s, Arkansas and Gonzaga to punch its ticket to Houston, and like Miami, it has covered all 4 games in the tournament.

The Huskies have scored 82 or more points in 3 of the 4 outings in the tourney so far, splitting the Over-Under in 4 games in the Big Dance.

UConn F Adama Sanogo had his worst shooting performance of the tournament against Gonzaga, going just 3 of 11, but he still finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and a blcoked shot in 26 minutes. G Jordan Hawkins picked him up, going for 20 points with 6 rebounds, giving him 22.0 PPG in the last 2 outings.

First look: Miami at North Carolina odds and lines

Previewing the Miami at North Carolina Week 7 matchup, with college football odds, trends and head-to-head records.

The Miami Hurricanes (2-3, 0-1 ACC) and North Carolina Tar Heels (3-3, 2-3) meet for an ACC Coastal Division showdown Saturday at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Miami vs. North Carolina odds and lines; check back for our college football picks and predictions.

Miami opened its ACC slate with a 30-28 loss Sept. 30 at Virginia. The Cavaliers led wire-to-wire and held the Hurricanes QB Tyler Van Dyke to 15-for-29 passing. UM was favored in the game and is now just 1-4 against the spread.

Miami was idle last week and now plays its first true road game of the season. Under head coach Manny Diaz, the Huccianes are 3-1 ATS as road dogs.

North Carolina is coming off a 35-25 home loss to Florida State and has dropped two of its last three games. UNC was outscored 35-7 over the middle quarters of Saturday’s loss, and was undone by some passing inefficiencies and 110 yards in penalties.

The Tar Heels have struggled against the difficult-to-overcome statistical tandem of allowing a 66.0% completion rate (115th FBS) and 7.9 yards allowed per attempt (90th).

First look: Virginia at Miami odds and lines

Previewing the Virginia Cavaliers at Miami Hurricanes Week 5 matchup, with college football odds, trends and head-to-head records.

The Virginia Cavaliers (2-2, 0-2 ACC) travel to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Miami Hurricanes (2-2, 0-0) this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Virginia at Miami odds and lines; check back for our college football picks and predictions.

It has been a familiar theme for Virginia through its first four games: a ton of points on both sides of the ball. QB Brennan Armstrong leads the nation with 426.3 yards per game and has 13 TDs to just 3 INTs. But for as prolific as the passing game has been, the Cavaliers defense is giving up 6.3 yards per play (worst in the ACC; 113th in the nation).

Miami crushed Central Connecticut State 69-0 in a much-needed reset last week after two brutal losses to Alabama (44-13) and Michigan State (38-17) in Weeks 1 and 3, respectively.

QB D’Eriq King missed Miami’s last game with a shoulder injury, and as of Monday, it’s unknown whether he’ll be available for this one. Backups Jake Garcia and Tyler Van Dyke split time last week and combined to throw for 417 yards and 5 TDs.
