The Miami Heat (13-12) take on the Orlando Magic (17-12) Saturday. Tip-off from Kia Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Heat vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orlando leads 1-0

Miami suffered a 104-97 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday while failing to cover as a 1-point underdog. The Heat turned the ball over 19 times and were outrebounded 48-41. Miami has lost back-to-back games after a 4-game winning streak Dec. 4-12.

Orlando lost 105-99 vs. the visiting Thunder Thursday as a 6-point underdog. The Magic trailed by 19 points at halftime, but stormed back to keep things close in the second half. The Magic continue to skid — they’ve lost 3 straight — thanks to injuries to F Paolo Banchero and F Franz Wagner.

Heat at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Heat 106, Magic 100

Moneyline

PASS.

I like the Heat to pick up the win here against this injured Magic team. However, the spread is more likely to cash, and I am not a fan of doubling down on a team’s ML and its spread.

I recommend passing here, but if you are okay with doubling down, then you can divvy up units between the ML and spread.

Against the spread

BET HEAT +3.5 (-115).

Miami has covered the spread in 4 of the last 6 meetings between these teams.

The Heat have started to turn things around after getting out to a slow start this season, and with Banchero and Wagner out, the Heat are the much safer bet here.

Be aware that this bet does come with a slight amount of risk, as the Magic have been the better team ATS this season.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 207.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in back-to-back games for Orlando and is 16-13 for the Magic this season. For Miami, the Under is 2-1 in its last 3 games.

With Orlando missing its 2 best offensive players, the Under is the safer bet here.

This is a lean because the O/U numbers have been very even for both squads recently.

Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Miami Heat (36-32) visit the Orlando Magic (27-40) Saturday. Tip from Amway Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Heat vs. Magic odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Miami took down Cleveland 119-115 Friday to cover as 3-point home favorites. It is 4-6 in its last 10 games and 3-7 against the spread (ATS) in that span. On the season, the Heat are 25-41-2 ATS.

Orlando fell to Utah 131-124 while failing to cover as 4-point home favorites. It has now lost 3 games in a row and is 4-6 in its last 10. In that same span, the Magic are 3-7 ATS and sit at 35-31-1 ATS this season.

Miami beat Orlando in both of their meetings earlier this season. In late January, Miami beat Orlando 110-105 while failing to cover as 8.5-point home favorites and Miami took down Orlando 107-103 in overtime while covering as 1.5-point road favorites in mid-February.

Heat at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Heat 115, Magic 108

Moneyline

PASS.

At -140 odds, the moneyline is not worth a play for the Heat.

Against the spread

LEAN MIAMI -2.5 (-105).

Orlando is on a 3-game home losing streak and is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games. The Magic are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games, 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing road record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games.

Miami has the 2nd best defense in the NBA in opponent points per game (109.1) and is facing an Orlando offense that ranks 27th in points per game (111.3). Expect the Heat to overwhelm the Magic offense and come out of Orlando with a victory.

Over/Under

BET OVER 220.5 (-105).

The Over is 4-1 in the Magic’s last 5 games including 3-0 in their last 3 home games. It is also 4-0 in their last 4 games when their opponent scores 100 or more points in their previous game. As it stands, 220.5 would be tied for the lowest closing line in the Magic’s last 10 games.

Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Miami Heat (31-25) and Orlando Magic (23-33) meet Saturday at Amway Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Heat vs. Magic odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Heat failed to cover the spread as 12.5-point home favorites Friday in a 97-95 win vs. the Houston Rockets. F Jimmy Butler scored the game-winning dunk with 0.3 seconds remaining as Miami won its 8th straight home game. Miami is 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last 4 games.

The Magic covered as 5-point home underdogs Thursday in a 115-104 win vs. the Denver Nuggets. Backups G Cole Anthony and C Bol Bol each scored 17 points as Orlando’s bench outscored Denver’s 56-10. The Magic are 7-2 ATS vs. the Heat in the last 9 meetings.

This is the 2nd meeting this season between the Heat and Magic. Orlando covered as an 8.5-point road underdog in a 110-105 loss with the Under 218.5 cashing back on Jan. 27.

Heat at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 107, Heat 103

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (+105).

Orlando has won 3 of its last 4 games and even held a lead in the final 2 minutes of a 102-98 loss vs. the New York Knicks Tuesday. The Magic are coming off an impressive win over the West-leading Nuggets while Miami needed a last-second alley-oop to beat the Rockets, who own the worst record in the Western Conference. The Heat have struggled on the road this season (11-16) and are just 1-4 in their last 5 away games.

Against the spread

PASS.

There is no need to buy the extra 1.5 points on the Magic when Orlando should win straight up. Bet the moneyline and/or total instead.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 213.5 (-105).

The Under is 13-3 in Miami’s last 16 games after a win and 4-0 in Orlando’s last 4 following a victory. The Under has hit in 6 of the Magic’s last 7 games after 1 day of rest and is 4-0 in Orlando’s last 4 after scoring 100 or more points in its previous contest.

Heat at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Heat 115, Magic 101

Money line (ML)

HEAT (-275) is the play here despite a chalky line. After a really slow start to the season, Miami is starting to look like the team that reached the NBA Finals just a few months ago.

They’ve won nine of their last 10 games, including an eight-point win over the Magic on Thursday. Also, Miami has won four of their last five games over Orlando and don’t be surprised if that’s the case once again in this matchup.

Expect Miami to take care of business once again on Sunday night over this bad Magic team.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

HEAT -6.5 (-110) is the lean here as Miami has now covered the spread in eight of their last ten games. They’ve played excellent basketball over the last three weeks as they are starting to play like a real contender in the Eastern Conference.

Miami has been a fine road team against the spread this year (10-9) and they have been much better in recent weeks. Expect this game to be close for a while, but ultimately for the Heat to win by double digits.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 211.5 (-110) is the smart play here despite the Magic struggling on offense in recent games. In their last game, they scored just 77 points against the Spurs.

They are averaging nearly 105 points per game this season, second-worst in the NBA. If the Magic can reach 100 points in this game (which may be difficult given the Heat’s defense), the Over should hit.

Expect some sloppy play in this one, but for the total to eventually go over 211.5 points.
