Miami at Central Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Central Michigan 74, Miami 71

Moneyline

Miami has not played a tough slate of offensive foes, and its defensive metrics are really shaky. MU depends a lot on 3-pointers, but Central Michigan defends the perimeter well enough and figures to have an edge in rebounding the basketball.

Will the Chippewas experience a hangover after the big win over Michigan? Maybe. However, the defensive edge is substantial enough to make the Chips a slight value.

BACK CENTRAL MICHIGAN (-140).

Against the spread

AVOID: Miami’s 3-point shooting could well chip away late at a 2- or 3-possession CMU lead.

Over/Under

Figure an above-average pace and some defensive inadequacies. But tempos have been slowing down for both, and a conference tilt may keep this in the mid-140s. PASS.
