2022 World Cup: Saudi Arabia vs. Mexico odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Saudi Arabia vs. Mexico odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group C stage match, Saudi Arabia (1 win, 1 loss, 0 draws) and Mexico (0-1-1) meet Wednesday at Lusail Iconic Stadium at 2 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Saudi Arabia vs. Mexico odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Saudi Arabia scored the most stunning upset of the World Cup so far, topping Argentina 2-1 in its opener. However, Saudi Arabia crashed back to Earth with a 2-0 loss to Poland Saturday.

Mexico has struggled at this World Cup, playing to a scoreless draw against Poland in its opener before suffering a 2-0 setback to Argentina. Not only is El Tri looking for its 1st win, it is still searching for its 1st goal of the tournament.

Saudi Arabia could play its way into the knockout stages with a win over Mexico, while El Tri needs a Poland win over Argentina, and a boatload of goals to win a tiebreaker. It will be an interesting day Wednesday in Group C.

Prediction

Mexico 1, Saudi Arabia 0

Moneyline (ML)

The play is MEXICO (-145) here as it is hard to imagine El Tri getting blanked in all 3 of its group stage matches and not having any success in this tournament. However, Mexico won’t be able to do enough on offense to get it done in the goal-differential category, and both Mexico and Saudi Arabia will be headed home.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 2.5 (+110) is the best play on the board in this match. Mexico hasn’t scored a goal yet, while posting a clean sheet of its own in its opener.

Saudi Arabia outslugged Argentina in a stunning match, winning 2-1, but it was held off the board against Poland, a team desperate for a win. The Green Eagles face the same situation here, as Mexico is desperate for something positive, and the team with a better pedigree will get it done here.

2022 World Cup: Argentina vs. Mexico odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Argentina vs. Mexico odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group C group statge match, Argentina (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) and Mexico (0-0-1) meet Saturday at Lusail Iconic Stadium. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. ET (FS1/Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Argentina vs. Mexico odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Argentina was on the short end of the most stunning upset early at this World Cup, or perhaps any other, as it fell 2-1 to Saudi Arabia Tuesday. Argentina outshot the Saudis 13-3, including a 6-2 margin in shots on goal, while possessing the ball 68.0% of the time.

All was going well for the Argies, as F Lionel Messi put his nation up 1-0 on a penalty kick at 10′, and at half time, Argentina was doing what was expected. However, goals from F Saleh Al-Shehri and M Salem Al-Dawsari at 48′ and 53′ proved to be too much to overcome.

Mexico played to a scoreless draw against Poland Tuesday in a match in which it outshot its opponent 11-6, including 4-2 in shots on goal.

Prediction

Argentina 1, Mexico 1

Moneyline (ML)

DRAW (+300) is a strong play, as Argentina looks to bounce back, and Mexico seeks the back of the net for the first time at this World Cup.

Mexico (+600) might be worth a roll of the dice with a small-unit wager for the chance to multiply your initial stake times 6 if you aren’t sold on the draw.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 2.5 (-150) is worth playing in this Group C battle.

Argentina will likely be pushing the pace of play trying to get on the board early, trying to wash the bad taste of the loss to Saudi Arabia out of its mouth.

Mexico played to a scoreless draw against Poland, and it wasn’t even really close to getting on the board. El Tri played sound defense and should keep Argentina at bay in another low-scoring affair.

2022 World Cup: Mexico vs. Poland odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Poland vs. Mexico odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group C group stage opener for both sides, Mexico and Poland meet Tuesday at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, at 11 a.m. ET (FOX and Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Mexico vs. Poland odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Mexico is back at the World Cup, and El Tri is looking to make noise with a new generation of stars. In particular, Edson Alvarez and Hirving Lozano are players to watch as they look to make their marks on the world stage.

For Poland, Robert Lewandowski will be of particular interest to Mexico, as he is easily the most recognizable name for the Poles, but Piotr Zielinski is also a player on the rise.

Mexico is No. 9 in the FIFA world rankings while Poalnd is No. 24.

Prediction

Mexico 1, Poland 1

Moneyline (ML)

These 2 sides are likely to be jockeying for position behind Argentina for the all-important 2nd-place spot in Group C, looking to advance out of the group stage as Saudi Arabia is not expected to be much of a threat.

This is a very important early match for both sides, and neither is expected to take unnecessary chances. Look for both Mexico and Poland to play safe, picking up a satisfying DRAW (+200) to open their World Cup 2022.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-175) is fairly expensive, but it will be worth the risk.

Mexico will want to play keep away from Poland, trying to deny the dangerous Lewandowski his 1st-ever World Cup goal. El Tri likes to maintain possession, and it isn’t terribly keen on pushing the pace. This is a strong defensive side, but not a terribly high-octane offense.

Poland will be rather frustrated trying to gain possession. Last time out, Poland topped Chile 1-0 in an international friendly on Nov. 16. And we have seen Under 2.5 goals in 4 straight matches for Poland across all competitions.

And, for what it’s worth, in 3 all-time meetings between Mexico and Poland, Under 2.5 goals has cashed every time.
