Chargers 2023 roster review: WR Terrell Bynum

Terrell Bynum faces an uphill battle to make the Chargers’ 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent.

Training camp is approaching and with a few more weeks of dead time in the NFL offseason, Chargers Wire is documenting each of Los Angeles’ players before it kicks off.

Undrafted rookies make up a significant portion of rosters around the NFL, and wide receiver Terrell Bynum is looking to become the latest such player to stick with the Chargers in 2023.

After playing collegiately at USC, Bynum didn’t hear his name called in April’s draft, and elected to stay close to home by signing with the Bolts shortly after the annual selection conference.

Bynum, a St. John Bosco alum, came back to California after three seasons in Washington and had 16 catches for 159 yards and a touchdown in 2022. During his time with the Huskies, Bynum had 65 receptions for 934 yards with scores.

He is a wild card heading into training camp and is unlikely to crack the final 53-man roster without a significant tailwind behind him during training camp and the preseason. At the very least, Bynum can perform for a spot on the practice squad.

Contract (2023): $750,000 base salary, $2,500 prorated bonus, $752,500 cap hit.

Acquired: Bynum signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 annual selection meeting.
