It has been a rough few weeks for the Florida Gators men’s basketball team which includes a two-game losing streak as well as a 13-day layoff due to the COVID pandemic. Still, UF’s NCAA Tournament hopes are still intact, albeit shakily, and there are games left to be played including today’s against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Saturday’s game features a matchup between two fierce rivals, with Florida (10-6, 6-5 SEC) holding a slight edge record-wise over Georgia (13-8, 6-8 SEC) despite having played five fewer games. As far as the NCAA NET rankings are concerned, UF currently sits at No. 30 while UGA is way down at No. 89 thanks in large part to the Gators’ 3-3 record in Quad 1 games — in comparison to the Bulldogs’ 2-5. However, Georgia did manage to beat the No. 20 Missouri Tigers last time out, who currently rank No. 43 in the NET.
BetMGM has the Gators an 8.5-point favorite over the Bulldogs while the over/under is set at 155.5 points ahead of game time.
Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST in the O’Connell Center, Gainesville, Florida, and will be broadcast on the SEC Network, livestreamed on the ESPN app and can be heard on the Gators Sports Network.
