Alabama makes top 7 for massive 2021 OT Maximus Gibbs

Alabama is in great shape to land a massive 2021 offensive lineman in Maximus Gibbs, who recently trimmed his list of schools down to seven.

Maximus Gibbs is considered one of the biggest high school football prospects for the class of 2021. At 6-foot-6, 360 pounds, the offensive tackle is similar in size to Alabama’s starting left guard from 2019, Evan Neal.

Gibbs isn’t just a massive body, however. He’s also got impressive movement skills for a player his size.

That combination of size and athleticism is a major reason for Gibbs receiving a lot of attention on the recruiting trail despite only currently being ranked as a three-star prospect.

Some of the top programs in the country are after Gibbs, and the Bellflower (Cali.) native recently trimmed that list down to his top seven schools, which included Alabama after the Tide offered him back in February.

So of the seven teams, five of them are from the SEC: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M and Arkansas.

The good news for the Crimson Tide is that offensive line coach Kyle Flood, as well as special teams coordinator Jeff Banks, are the two main coaches recruiting Gibbs.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, the St. John Bosco High School standout is rated as the nation’s No. 567 overall prospect, No. 51 offensive tackle and No. 52 player from the state of California.
